CHAPTER#33:Dimension Portal.

The faint blue fire lamps lit the room as soon as the heavy doors slowly creaked open. The stone floor was carved with numerous patterns unknown to me. It looked like symbols of some ancient language used by the elves.

In the middle of the isolated chamber stood a mirror that reached the ceiling. It emitted a faint purple light. However, on second glance there was no mirror on the closer look. It was a vacuum space that showed outer space. I couldn't help but stare at it in awe. At the top of its carved frame were gemstones of three colors. Purple was the largest almond-shaped and two smaller ones on either side emitted different colors at a time.

Adrielle stepped forward letting go of my hand and held out her hand beside the portal.

A small light started to gleam in a round object placed on an old wooden table beside it.

It was a crystal ball that responded to her magic and so did the portal as the wind howled through the dark passage into the room.

Her silk black straight hair fluttered in the cool wind as she turned back to me.

"Come here, child." Her voice was shaky yet sounded heavy at every word that passed her lips.

I hesitantly stepped toward her as she began to explain to me.

"This is the secret that the dark elves have guarded for centuries." she looked at the portal as it glowed as if responding to her words.

"Its... A portal?" I wanted to keep silent but realized that I was already speaking up my mind subconsciously.

"No. Not just any portal. It's the time dimension portal. Only formed through constant supply of magic awakened from dark arts."

-"Dark Arts!" I gasped in horror.

"The forbidden magic." I looked at her but her gaze was fixated on the same place. She slowly nodded.

"The dark arts are indeed the forbidden magic in the entire realm. But it runs in our blood. The royal family's blood."

She slowly took my hand and placed it on the crystal ball.

The excruciating pain engulfed my body as my head was filled with the screams and agony of the people. I could feel my body trembling in fear. Tears trickled down my cheeks.

I could see myself in the crystal ball as my eyes glowed.

I staggered as Adrielle continued to watch me struggle through the pain.

Until it became unbearable I could feel myself opening my mouth to let out a deafening scream that filled the room as a barrier around the room activated.

The floor glowed which made her take a step away from me in fear. The invincible guardian who never cowered in fear stared in disbelief. The light from the portal engulfed the room. I felt myself being sucked into it.

"No! Luna!"

I heard Adrielle scream as she blindly tried to reach for me by waving her hands in midair.

I lost consciousness. I felt like floating on a cloud in the middle of nowhere. The wind had stopped. Everything was still and silent. It was peaceful yet scary.

Suddenly I heard a sound. A sound of ripples on the water. I sensed something approaching from nowhere.

"Hey wake up! How long are you going to laze around?"

It was not Adrielle's voice. I wondered as none of my maids procured a high-pitched voice like that of a child.

I opened my eyes. A child seemingly younger than me stood wearing a plain white dress. Her striking resemblance to me made me at a loss for words.

She had big silver eyes but black hair that were straight and smooth as silk like Adrielle's that reached her lower back rather than curly unlike mine.

"Who are you? "was the first thing that came to my mind.

"Luminaire," she replied to my unspoken question.

"Where is this place and where is Adrielle? "

I looked around frantically without paying much attention to her.

"This is the time-dimension portal. A realm of its own. Neither is the world you live in nor the hereafter. "

"Why did you drag me in here? And where is Adrielle? "

I frowned at her as she laughed out loud and then stopped.

"So you are my reincarnated fragment. It's no wonder Mother is obsessed over you. "

The word obsession itself creeped me out of my skin. I could feel my skin covered with goose pimples.

"How's my mother doing? "she asked. The sadness in her eyes was unexplained. She smiled a meek smile and slowly reached for my hand and grabbed it. Everything around us lit up into vast endless space. Stars twinkled brighter here than when seen on Earth. Galaxies and other heavenly bodies showed off their unique existence in the lifeless black sky.

"Come. I shall answer all of your questions."

She pulled me once again into a gate that represented an hourglass symbolizing time.

The light was blinding as we entered the gate and faded away.

I looked around me. The grey and white stone walls were familiar.

"I'm back?"
