100: Fast and Curious

It was a beautiful morning, the road from Arcadia to Sparta was empty as always for there not many merchants as it was only the begging of the spring, the snow still was melting and it was considered an offense to Demeter to leave your home before all the snow had melted away, but some did not care as much. This rule was only followed by merchants and servants of Demeter, which consisted of farmers and those who wanted a great harvest in the next year or so. At this moment, in a small village near the Perioeci city of Pellana in the region of Taygetus, two men were walking side by side, both wearing close to no winter clothing as if the cold didn't bother them.

These were Klein and Zagreus, and they were exploring the mortal world, Zagreus was constantly stopping at random villages and helping people by healing them with Klein always there to support him, no one asked him why he was there as Klein used [Mental Powers: Telepathy (S)] and Zagreus's suppressed Divine aura were enough to show that they weren't mortals and that they were in fact, Gods. Soon the begging of a myth was forming, just like in the beginning people used to tell stories about a giant eagle in the sky followed by thunder, and they associated the eagle with Zeus, people began to speak about Zagreus. Well, not exactly Zagreus, but Aímatis (Aíma + Dotis) or the Bloodgiver in English.

They told stories about a man that went from place to place, giving people his blood and healing them. He was always accompanied by another man taller than him, both always wearing robes and golden leaf crowns, with this majestic aura around them. Word spread fast, so fast that even the other cities began to hear these stories. They did not believe it at first until the stories began to spread more and more, with people saying they saw those men and were healed by them, they could tell they were Gods because of not only their clothing and aura but also their beauty. Aímatis was always described as having beautiful eyes of different colors, being thin and lean, not looking like a soldier but one.

The man accompanying Aímatis was a mysterious figure, but everyone could only think one word after they looked at his eyes: "Katastrophe", so they learned about Katastrophe, the God of Destruction and Disasters, soon stories about both men reached the temples of the Gods, who also began to know about itis... Zeus was curious, so he sent Hermes to know what was going on. Hermes disguised himself as mortal and went from village to village, waiting for both men to arrive so he could see who were they. When he finally met them, he saw Zagreus and an unknown man together, Zagreus healing those who needed and the man beside him always observing... It was when he caught his eyes, Hermes suddenly saw the man's eyes and he gasped internally as he saw the destruction.

Illusions of how everything would end, explosions, great waves, earthquakes, tornadoes, and many other 'natural' disasters. Hermes had a hard time breathing as the man stared at him when Zagreus was done with everyone he finally noticed Hermes. He smiled at him like he always did, seemingly ignoring the danger behind him, Zagreus soon started to wall towards him with that man walking right behind him without taking his eyes off of Hermes. "Hello, Cousin Hermes." As soon as those words left his mouth, Hermes was taken out of his illusions, he smiled somewhat embarrassed and somewhat frightened by the man behind Zagreus.

The mortals around just gawked as the old man that was ignored by them changed, his body growing younger and stronger as two small wings grew from his shoes. "Hello, cousin!" Hermes greeted as Zagreus smiled. "Greetings." Klein also greeted, however, his greeting was colder and straightforward, not that Hermes would care about it now since he could feel danger around that man and he wanted to leave as soon as possible. "I see you have been wandering around mortals..." Hermes looked at the mortals that he spoke of, they were all on their knees on the ground not daring to look up. "Why?" Hermes finished his question and Zagreus just smiled. saying: "Oh, I wanted to get used to my Divinity."

Gods can see when one is lying, but it only works with mortals, to full immortals they can't tell if they tell a truth or lie. Hermes just assumed Zagreus was saying the truth because he didn't lie! He was too naive and trusting to lie. "Oh! Zagreus! You left the Underworld! Since when? This is wonderful! Everyone in Olympus will be thrilled to know that you can come!" Hermes took Zagreus's hand and was ready to take him to Olympus as he promised he would do, but soon he felt his hand vanish as he was almost touching Zagreus. He looked down at his arm and saw the man behind Zagreus, the Disaster, holding his arm. Golden blood began to pour out of his left side as Zagreus sighed and turned around to look at Klein, touching his chest and saying: "It's okay. Give the arm back, okay?"

Klein sighed and threw the arm back towards Hermes, who chuckled and thought: "I'm in danger" as he reattached his severed arm back to its place temporarily, he was glad that the man didn't use any Divine Energy to take his arm off or else he would have some trouble... Also, he, the fastest in Olympus did not notice how Klein took his arm out! This alone was scary! Hermes coughed a fake cough to clear his throat and said: "Zagreus, I invite you to come to Olympus." Zagreus nodded and accepted the offer saying: "I accept the offer Cousin, but now I am very much occupied. I will go to Olympus when I'm done with some things... And I will bring my partner with me." Zagreus was taught etiquette, and even though he normally doesn't use it, he knows when to use it very well.

Hermes chuckled nervously before he looked at Klein who was staring at Zagreus with stars in his eyes, Hermes would think it was cute if this man didn't give him the feeling of death. "Olympus will be waiting for your arrival, farewell" Hermes quickly vanished from sight, and although it looked like he simply vanished, Klein knew that Hermes manipulated space to teleport away... No wonder he is the fastest, he can not only move incredibly fast, but he can also teleport and move across dimensions.

Curious...
