126: Illusion

As time went on, Amando made some friends, and soon he wanted to participate in a Capture the Flag game with the other members of the camp. Klein and Zagreus permitted him to participate, their boy had a great talent for magic as he learned five spells in 1 day and was able to successfully use them 10 times each before he could no longer use magic, which puts him in a high amount of mana, meaning he is naturally born with a great amount of mana and can use more powerful magics in the future without strain. Zagreus also taught the boy how to defend himself a little better, although Zagreus believed instinct was good in combat, strategy, and thinking is always better but you also need to do it. Knowing what to do and doing it are completely different things.

So encouraging their son to interact with other children and know more about them, think about what to do and doing it, and teaching magic and fighting with weapons, took the most time of his day. The rest of the day was spent relaxing as a family, Klein began to teach Amando how to fish due to the boy's request while Zagreus began to draw the scene.

A star-eyed Amando looking at Klein, amazed by how his father caught a giant snake. Klein, with a raised eyebrow showing a small sign of surprise at the giant snake while his fishing rod is pulled back, his muscles bulging as he puts force behind his pull. The shocked eyes of the serpent as it comically looks upwards towards Klein who smiles at the reptile. This was the image Zagreus caught and began to draw in high detail, his pencil scratching the paper gently and leaving behind its dark, almost coal-like, lines. The lines began to form shapes, that formed more delicate lines, and in the end, a beautifully drawn and realistic picture of a frame of the day, forever registered because as soon as Zagreus finished his drawing, he gave it to Klein as a gift.

Klein accepted it and soon framed it with pure gold and silver, taking the drawing to his collection and placing it on number 169.234.456 as it was Zagreus's 169234456th gift and another unique treasure to Klein's most precious and loved collection. Zagreus just thought that Klein just placed it on his dimension for safekeeping as he always did with the things he gives him, he did not know that Klein had rows and rows of glass boxes imbrued with time spells that kept them locked away and free from any effect time may have on them.

The day of the Capture the Flag game arrived, it was a lively day for everyone, it was like an event where everyone could happily watch others fight or fight themselves. After Zagreus's lessons, the campers were eager to fight against each other to test their abilities, and only those who were old enough or strong enough to carry a weapon could fight, but ultimately youngsters were not accepted. But with the permission of a God, they could. Well... With the permission of a God, they could do almost anything they wished to do! Participating in a small game of Capture the Flag was no problem at all. Some kids were jealous of him because of that and even calling him a spoiled kid, but he did not care, he pitied them because some of them were children of minor gods that could not claim them and they all had to live in the Hermes Cabin till the rest of their stay at this camp.

As soon as the game began, all the Gods in the camp felt it as well as Chiron, they were under attack. The barrier could keep monsters at bay but it wasn't all-powerful! It could break if enough power was put behind the attacks if they could identify the weak points or cracks on the barrier, or if the source of the barrier could be killed or destroyed. The source was a tree, so it could be destroyed rather easily if it was a normal tree, but it was a magical one so they had to weaken it to truly destroy it completely.

Klein and Zagreus looked at each other before nodding, teleporting to the border of the camp, near the barrier. As soon as they appeared they were surprised to see a Titan, not other than Atlas, punching the barrier of the camp... Klein and Zagreus soon found out that this was but a magical/mist construction and that it was a powerful Illusion that can cause physical damage too. It was a distraction, they knew it as soon as they saw it, but Chiron didn't nor did Dionysus because they both appeared soon after, Chiron running and Dionysus teleported as any other Divine Being would. Klein did not care for Camp Half-Blood, but he cared for his son and his summer experience! How would he have fun if the camp was destroyed? So he shredded his Divine Energy together with his Psionic and Soul Energies to search the whole camp.

Meanwhile, Zagreus decided to get rid of this Illusion by simply raising his hand and pulling it backward, as if he was drawing a bow. Soon, a red arrow made of pure blood appeared out of thin air and soon it slowly increased in size. Soon, the sword was a big as the illusion itself, big enough to in one swing cut it in half completely. The illusion turned into motes of light as it faded away and at the same time Klein opened his eyes and kissed Zagreus's temple before vanishing and taking Zagreus with him as well. They soon appeared in front of a very distressed Luke who had his hands over his head as he felt unimaginable pain that was caused by Chronus.

Klein sighed as Zagreus felt a little sympathetic and pity towards the child, even though the boy was 19 years old by now he was still a child in both Klein and Zagreus's eyes. Luke opened his eyes and stared at both Klein and Zagreus, Klein with no expression on his face as Zagreus seemed distressed. He was discussing with Chronus a few minutes ago what would happen if they tried it another way, he realized that if Klein and Zagreus knew about him they could easily tell Zeus and even destroy him, but Chronus did not care about Luke and even insinuated that he would be sacrificed if he did not comply. He began realizing that Chronus was just like the Gods that he oh-so hated with his soul, and when he thought of that Chronus was furious.

He sent various visions to the boy's mind and created a distraction so he could torture Luke a little longer so he could make the boy submissive to him... Last, to say, it didn't work.

And now... Luke accepted Klein's offer. Because he did not want to suffer this huge headache, he would rather let the Gods continue to be the horrible things they were and try again later than suffer and see more and more of those images... They were not good memories for him.
