She lay there dead silent on her bed staring at the white blank ceiling, thoughts racing through her mind at the speed of light.
"Does he love me?" she asked herself, tears streamed down her little face like a waterfall.
Another question followed with a break in her voice "do I love me?"
Lilac turned to the side, staring at a plain empty wall with a feeling of deep sadness and emptiness.
Every emotion Lilac felt was dark and came with hints of pain. Not a moment of contentment or happiness, the emptiness surrounded her like the 4 walls in her bedroom. She laid her head on her silk black pillow and tears streamed down her perfect little face until her eyes closed shut.
Morning arrived, the sky turned blue and the birds tweeted happy tunes. The alarm clock rang and Lilac opened her eyes. It's a new day, it's a new dawn but the empty feelings and sadness still clung to her. The night before wasn't what she dreamed and Lilac's life wasn't what it seemed.
Although everything wasn't roses and daisies, the clock struck 7am and Lilac dragged herself out of bed and got ready for work. She put on her little black dress, Jimmy Choo high heels and a fake smile.
As she walked down the stairs her mother shouted from the cookhouse of their huge mansion "Breakfast Lilac?!" Unresponsive to her mother she continued walking down the stairs and walked out the front door. She sat in her car and stared at herself in the mirror.
Cigarette lit, key in the ignition, all ready to go. The exhaust system roared as she reversed out quickly and drove herself to work.
She was a bright and intelligent girl, she stood out like a pearl. Despite all her sorrow and sadness, she still managed to carry herself well in front of others.
