As the students walked down the stadium stand and headed to the main building a kilometer behind, Larry sat alone with a nervous expression, not wanting to go back.
What should I do? He thought, Should I tell him now?
Mr. Lee noticed him, “Huh? Hey kid, why aren’t you going with the rest?”
Kane twirled back his face as he passed by Mr. Lee, and stared at him with suspicion.
Mr. Lee looked at him, “Hey. Go back to class, and don’t slack around,”
“Yeah, yeah,” said Kane in a bored tone, turning his uncaring face to the front and resuming his walk.
The delinquents were the last in line, along with John, who also suspected Larry was going to try something after they’re gone.
John turned his head around and called him near the end of the stairs, “Hey Larry! C’mon dude. Your friends are going. Aren’t you gonna come?” He asked as he followed Kane.
“Just leave him for me, John. I will see what’s bothering him,” said Mr. Lee, catching his shoulder and shoving him away.
