We spent a good one hour traveling from underground city 20 to the surface city of Erimus. If you're wondering how the 3 of us used my big bike to travel over to the top, Marque thought it would be a good idea to bet that she would make it faster than we did by parkouring and running her way through buildings and roads. We as in Amari and I on the bike. Well, of course, she didn't succeed. Lost the bet and lost her chances of me buying her a nice cold drink. Milk tea to be exact.
Once we got to the grocery store, I started to go around looking for the things I needed to get for the house first like meats, cans of food, veggies, and all that shebang. It was pretty relaxing to go to the store actually. As boring as it seems, I quite enjoy it. Amari and Marque decided they would shop for their own stuff since Marque's staying at my place for about a week and of course, Amari has her own house by mine. Marque stays with me for a week every month. As besties far apart do. Anyway, after a good amount of time shopping for what we needed, we checked out and went to a nearby tech shop to pick up some parts. As I looked through some parts for the computer and along with a few more parts for other projects, Amari and Marque both went around checking the items despite not really know what they are and what they do. It's still quite adorable though.
"Hey, Sunae? What's this?" Marque asked pointing at a computer component.
I looked over and patted her head, "That's a power supply." I explained.
Marque is a year younger than me while Jules is 2 years younger. Nothing much happened but me shopping for some stuff. After I paid for the items, my bags of groceries and boxes of tech were transported to my house since I only had a bike for transport. After getting on another hour ride now with Amari trying to parkour her way behind us, I parked my bike and went back home to manage my stuff.
"Do you guys want me to teach you how to build a computer? Don't worry, I bought 2 other sets of parts for you to learn on and 2 cool looking cases too." I offered and smiled at both.
Marque widened her eyes, "Damn! Really?!" She cheered.
"Are you serious???" Amari asked with a hint of excitement.
I chuckled and nodded to them, "Just help me bring the parts in and we should be able to start building as soon as I put away my groceries."
The two nodded and brought the computer parts in gently while I put the groceries away and arranged my pantry and fridge. The two seemed excited. Marque has seen me work with tech but never actually did it herself and Amari...I'm not sure if she has experience but she's probably seen people work with them a lot.
All the packing and arranging did, It's time to teach them how to build a functioning computer. We had some sodas and snacks to go along with it BUT I told them to make sure their hands would be clean when handling the parts so they used some tissues to eat their snackies as we built them. I built my computer alongside theirs so they could see how I normally do it. Since Marque already had a pair of monitors and all the peripherals and items, I figured I would give Amari a few of my older stuff like my keyboards or older holokeybords, dual monitors I don't quite use anymore since I got a new pair, and a few others to complete her set.
"There! All done!" Amari said proudly.
Both of their builds look clean as they followed my instructions quite well and all we have to do is test if they even run! Bonding with my best friend again and a sort of frienemy of mine is quite wholesome. Snacks, drinks, and building some tech.
Testing time. I first tested mine to show them how it would look if they successfully built their computer and explained some parts for programming and testing out the specs along with adjusting them to what they prefer. Marque's computer is up next.
"Everything seems to be good..." I said as we waited for the computer to fully load up. It's a success!
Marque clapped excitedly and fist pumps the ait in victory, "NICE! FIRST TRY." She exclaimed.
I chuckled and shook her hand, "COngrats your officially a custom computer parent."
Amari's work is up next. She placed her work nervously on the desk as I plugged the wirings in and turned it on.
"Good...everything seems to be going great for you two." I said staring into the screen. It also booted up perfectly and quicker than Marque's!
Amari sighed in relief and clapped for herself, "YES. Can you teach me further on how to work this thing?" She asked and clicked around the successful screen her work ran.
I nodded and gave her a thumbs-up, "Sure thing. I'll give you some other items to complete your set too." I said smiling.
Amari tilted her head in return, "Are you sure...? Isn't that too much...?" She shyly whined.
I shook my head with a little smile in response and helped them program and adjust their computers and for the rest of the time we had, We spent it with me explaining some parts and how to deal with certain problems if ever they bump into them. Wholesome indeed.
