Chapter 8: Ride

Well...I bought myself a nice bike. I got it customized and gave it a good 3 hours to make. It's cool and all black. Black is life after all. At that moment, I didn't mind whatever the hell just happened as I waited for the bike. I don't use my Radar often in a day to avoid headaches or...public damage.

I sighed and started the bike just to ride around Erimus. It's a good beautiful 9:30 am around the city. I hummed thinking of its features. I'm a fast learner so I can get used to this baby in no time! The purr on this bike is amazing too. While riding around the city, I then noticed the switch by the screen on the bike.

"Must be the hover switch..." I said to myself and pressed it.

The bike suddenly revved loudly by itself as its wheels transformed into AntiGrav Engines making it fly like a hovercar off of the road. I might have to look into this piece of gorgeous tech later when I get home. Feeling the wind in my hair gave such a fascinating feeling...I've only felt this when jumping from building to building or even just letting myself fall...This feels free.

After my little getaway ride, I decided to ride home to 20 and do my usual projects and sell them. I sighed in content and eventually made it to my house and parked my new bike in the little vacant garage I had. I made it into my office but I figured this bike would be a little too nice to let it stay outside. Now that I'm home, what else should I do? Looking around my garage turned office, nothing much comes to mind except more work to do...It's hella boring.

I sighed and lead back on my chair and stared up at the ceiling just letting my thoughts pass by one by one. Nothing too alarming comes to mind though...

"First peace moment of the day I guess?" I said to myself before deciding to check the house if Marque and Amari are still around. Perhaps I could show them my new ride. I snapped out of my trance seeing something unfamiliar. Someone. Roaming around the living room. There's a set of stairs I would have to go up on to reach the living room from the garage office. It's made out of wood and because of how old this building is, I doubt I'll be able to go up there unheard. I silently made my way to the table I had that held my computers that basically had eyes around the whole house. I'm sure they would've heard me parking the bike and would be alerted either way but it is kind of noisy outside so maybe they just shrugged the bike's noise off? Once I checked the screen, a figure wore all black with a hat that covered their face. I sighed and used my powers to survey the living room where they were in. The person looks like they're looking for something.

I then nodded once I concluded that this must be the same thief that tried to break into my house last month. I knew just how to scare them away for good. I grinned and walked over to the power box and killed all the lights in the house. Surely, Marque and Amari's voices rang out to the wall once the lights suddenly went off. I saw them when I first used my radar to check the house and thought of a way to scare this person away. Anyways- We're straying off. As the lights were off in the house, I could see that this person started to panic and froze from the shock. I snickered and snuck through the garage door leading right to the living room. I was sure that no matter how panicked they were, coming through that door would overwhelm them the exact moment their body went into complete shock.

"Got you." I whispered and wrapped my arm around their neck before taking them down to the ground.

A groan of pain came out of this person's masked face as they tried to fight back but failed. I was fast enough to overwhelm them. Planned worked as expected.

"What're you doing here again." I calmly said. As I had my arms around this person, Marque and Amari made their way to me and saw the situation. I felt that this person was trying to slip from my arms so I had to wrap my arm around their neck tighter, turn them around, and place my knee on their lower back. Don't worry, once I had my knee on them, I loosened my hold on their neck and made sure to only press down on their lower back to not let them escape.

"WHAT HAPPENED HERE?! THE LIGHTS GOT SHUT AND STUFF!" Marque said rather shookth and spooked.

"LET ME GO!" The person yelled as they struggled.

I rolled my eyes and grabbed something from my bag. It was my little contraption to hold them down firmly around their legs. As I placed the device down, it immediately held this guy's legs down and attached itself to the floor. Sort of like a pair of handcuffs that used gravity to hold down the suspect.

"There we go. Now let's see who you are hm?" I said with a serious tone and reaching over to pull their mask off.

"You again." I groaned rolling my eyes. It was the messenger working forme for underground business.

"Yeah yeah! I was just here to drop off some tech for Gaius..." He whined and sighed.

"Sure. Hand it over then." I raised my eyebrow and got off of him.

"Wait what???" Amari said very confused and rather lost, "What just...what???????" She questioned.

"Oh yeah...This guy's one of the messengers assigned to me for my little biz. He likes to prank a lot but he always ends up on his ass..." I explained and snickered silently.

Both Amari and Marque went back to watching some movies after the confusing fiasco. The messenger handed over Gaius' parcel so I can do my work but something seemed odd about it. It was a chip that Gaius said I should 'check out' on a note attached to the plastic it was in. I didn't mind it as much at first but I guess this is...new...? Maybe I should check around to be sure this is nothing to worry about.
