CHAPTER5: GENESIS... IV

Bella stomped about angrily in the garden, throwing her hands up in the air like a woman gone bonkers. Maddie who had awoken due to the ruckus was currently shaken her head at her mom's behavior and was wondering why she got to be the mom instead her. "why does he have to be so stubborn, why doesn't he just listen to me. He knows something I don't right?, then why won't he just tell me?. Am his wife and mother of his child for crying out loud!" she ranted out her anger and confusion while gazing at the sky and looking at the clouds.

She kind of envied them, they were free to do whatever they wanted without hindrances like a certain someone, humph she wasn't going to let him have his way. No, not this time around. Even though she was more than the clouds in terms of comparison, she still felt the reigns of fear in her life. The fear of losing him and herself and their child in this life. She knew she should trust him, she did but it just didn't feel right not to receive that kind of trust in return. She wanted to be on the giving side of protection not the opposite as she is usually situated. She felt suffocated by the constant eyes watching and preying on her husband, but she couldn't do anything, she felt restless and angry. Maddy who was watching from a distance couldn't take anymore of her mother's maddening attitude had long woken up due to the ruckus they caused and so,went off in pursuit of her father. "Dad!, dad where are you? dad?" she strolled around the living room searching for him. She was on her way to their room when she felt intrigued by something which had caught her eye, Maddie being a curious person wanted to know what it was, so she abandoned her original mission. She took the photograph which had caught her eye and gazed at it in confusion, she even turned it upside down to grasp it's meaning but to no avail. She reluctantly put it back and went in search of her father, she even called out his name in hopes of a response but silence gave her a cheerful response. A random thought popped in a her mind and she ran of towards it. she quickly found herself at the door of the study, giving it knock she opened it and lo and behold was her father slouching on the desk in a trance like state or as her mom would say "idiotic sleeping". She quietly tiptoed around him, bending her head over his ears she shouted "boo!!". This caused the ever-knowing man who was already aware of her presence to feign a look of surprise "aah!". what did do you that for?, you scared me to death." "pf-ft, daddy don't bother to tell a lie, you obviously felt my presence but tried to pretend otherwise. don't worry I won't tell mom you suck at acting, I'll just say your jokes are quite funny to save you some face." Robert couldn't fathom even in his wildest dreams to hear of these atrocities from his child's mouth. He knew she was smart but he didn't know she was that wise and observative for a six year old, he could only nod in approval that she was indeed of his bloodline. he felt that his little maddie was gradually growing and would soon be going out to see the world.
