In a lapse of judgement, the world tries to fix a global illness leading to the creation of another dimension. Those afflicted with this illness are brought to this other dimension where things may not be as they seem.

Paradox

The six of them had followed the scientist down the road to a small camp. Tents were set up over computer systems. When they entered it, everyone in the vicinity stopped. Staring, the people whispered amongst themselves. The group didn’t have long to dwell on it before they were being ushered into a military vehicle, heading toward the city. 


Willis sat between Devin and Tucker with his backpack clutched to his chest, glaring down the driver. He had fought getting into the back. Had he been able to, he would have tried again. Instead Tucker had pleaded with him to stop. None of it sat well with him. They had given them protein bars. They didn’t taste very good, but he was hungry enough. It didn’t mean he trusted them. 


So he slid one of his knives out of its hiding place. Nudging Devin, he slid it into the other’s hand. While he was in no position to fight. If what Tucker said about Devin was true, he was confident the other would help. Together they would have a chance.
