"No, I will not make this choice. I don't have to. It's my life, I get to live it once and I won't spend it with that man," Shivani announced, looking at Nandita with tear strained eyes.
Nandita held Shivani's face in her hands. "I will not force you to do something you don't want to do. But you must at least give this marriage a chance. A few years down the line, I don't want you to think back to this moment and ever feel that you shouldn't have walked out on that guy," she tried explaining to her.
"What sort of a man would marry a woman the night her father is killed, without bothering to seek her permission? What kind of a man refuses a woman who is pleading to stay with him for the night? He is the most vane, most arrogant, opportunistic person I have ever met in my life," Shivani finished, venting out all her frustration to her sister.
