Fahami's POV:
"Oh, Taesung, are you okay?"
He paused for few seconds, and then nodded. He looked cautious and serious.
'What's the matter with him?'
"I am fine, Noona, did you came here to ask me if I am okay?" He asked me suspiciously as if I did a crime.
"Yeah of course, haven't you heard about the incident?" My eyes widened in surprise.
He became stiffed and asked me sternly, "What incident are you talking about?"
"The men beaten you few days ago, you remember, right?"
He nodded.
"Well," I hesitated to tell. Because if he didn't know they were dead, it wasn't a good idea to tell him. After all, Taesung was just 20 years old.
"What are you trying to say, Noona?" He frowned.
"They are dead. Someone has beaten them and burned them. Their house is also burned. Few of them managed to survive the fire but didn't last longer. They couldn't even say the name of the culprit. Their vocal cords were burned too." To be honest, I was afraid. If a killer was independently roaming around, no one was safe.
"Noona, I don't see what it has to do with me." His pupils trembled. He looked, scared.
"Well, you see, I was worried, whoever did it, he might hold grudge against you and harm you. That's why I wanted to know if you are alright." I explained.
Fear left from his eyes. He looked relieved. When he looked at me, I noticed a recognizable emotion. As if he was touched.
He gulped and his eyes were shining. He gulped once again and said, "Noona, don't worry. There aren't many people who hold grudges against me. They bullied me just once. Their death has nothing to do with me." He gave a reassuring smile.
"Okay, then. How are you feeling now? I haven't seen you in many days. Are you alright? Do you feel pain anymore?" I felt like an idiot for not checking on him.
I noticed the bruises around his eyes, lips, and head were fading. He was healing. Did he take any medicines?
He smiled. I never saw him smiling. His smile is beautiful. In fact, very beautiful. He replied, "I am alright. Noona, don't worry about me."
"Okay, I will take leave then. Take care of yourself."
"Take care of yourself too." He smiled once again, "Bye, Noona."
I turned and walked to my flat and unlocked my door. I looked back at him for the last time and found him smiling at me. That was a happy smile. I also smiled at him in return. I went inside my flat and closed the door. I closed my eyes in relief that he was okay. And when I closed my eyes, all I could imagine about was his smile. He looked happy. I had witnessed many emotions in his eyes but I never noticed happiness. He had that same sadness in his face as Nabil. Each time Taesung called me, Noona, I felt a tug in my heart. He always tried to draw distance between us, but he, himself put an end to it. By calling me, Noona. I lost one brother but God sent another one for me. I would shelter him as a Noona. I would keep him happy, safe and loved. I sighed blissfully.
"Eunjin, how long do we have to wait? Why don't you call him?" I was getting impatient.
"Fahami, wait few more minutes. I know he will show up." She was impatient too but didn't want to let me see that.
It was the same day, in the evening, when we were waiting for our dear Eunjin's new boyfriend, Haewon. That, bloody man wasn't showing his face, and I was dying there out of hunger. Eunjin said she wanted to introduce him as her boyfriend. Quiet strange! They dated for only few days and now they were declaring their relationship.
"There he is! Jhagia (Honey), why are you late? Are you okay?" Eunjin acted like a lovesick wife. Eww!
'Jhagia'?
I eyed Eunijn gingerly. Well, I couldn't say that it was a bit too much cause I didn't have many experiences on love. Haewon nodded and smiled at her.
'Young Love!'
"Oh, Hyunsu-ah, you also came." Eunjin declared happily looking at the man who was behind me.
I glanced over to the tall frame standing next to me was Hyunsu. Why didn't I know that Hyunsu was coming? I looked at Eunjin raising an eyebrow. She just smiled awkwardly and shrugged. That little, (let's not curse). I wouldn't curse her if I wasn't utterly disturbed by Hyunsu's behavior. It was not like he proposed me a lot, no! He stared at me the whole time whenever I was near him. Asked me to join him for lunch, homework even offered me a ride to my home. I could consider all of it as simply gestures of friendliness but, I can't, when I knew he did all of this because he liked me in a different way and I didn't feel the same for him.
"Hmm." Hyunsu nodded at Eunjin, took seat opposite of me and asked, "How are you, Fahami?"
"I am fine, how are you?" I tried to reply as genteelly as I could.
"I am more than fine now." Completing his sentence, he looked at me as a kid looked at ice cream, with eyes shining like stars. Haewon coughed to break free Hyunsu from his fantasy. Eunjin smiled at her boyfriend and said, "We should order now."
"Yes, please, I am starving." I pouted.
The whole dinner went on something like this, Eunjin and Haewon were flirting, giggling and molding each other's legs under the table. How did I know? Well, I noticed when I dropped my purse and ducked to pick it up. And I forgot to mention that Hyunsu staring at me rather than eating his food. After the whole dinner when we came out of restaurant, Eunjin and Haewon decided to leave with each other. Hyunsu and I on the other hand were saying goodbyes to each other. Well, did I know that little pig wasn't saying goodbye? No, I didn't. When I realized? It was maybe after 10 minutes of my little walk back to my flat, I understood someone was following me. I looked behind many times to know who the hell was following me. And the last time when I not only stumbled on the road while trying to know the identity of the follower but also twisted my right leg, my mysterious follower decided to show his face.
