Chapter 7

Hestia's POV

.........."Esty".......

"Esty my mom is taking us to the carnival now,come with me" I heard a little girl calling me. Turning to face her I couldn't see anything but darkness and the next light that came to my view was me in the hospital

I've always had these episodes where a bit of memory comes back causing me to groan in pain whenever I try to force myself to remember more.

It's mostly about some little girl calling me Esty and bits of what happened before my accident but whenever I try to look at her I usually see darkness and that's it. I wonder why this was triggered when I heard Miss Ealwood call me Esty. Did she know anyone going by the same name? Guess I'll never know because she dismissed it real quickly as if she was guilty of something

I took the elevator to the third floor to Lillian's office so she could show me to my office

"Hello Lilian Miss Grum.....Ealwood wants you to show me to my office please." I said to the short red haired woman

Phew!I almost called her Miss Grumpy in the presence of her secretary

"Yeah right,it's on the same floor as Athy's lets go back" she giggled

Athy??????!!!!!!They must be real close for her to call the boss by her nickname

Wait..

Hold up..

Pause..

Ok play..

Did she just say it's on the same floor I came from?

She made me go all the way to the other floor when she could have shown me herself. Talk about modesty! I scoffed internally

"Here you go"

I didn't even realized we had arrived

"Thanks Lilian"

"Its nothing" she chuckled

"You can change the setting to what suits you if you'd like"

"Sure thing let me get settled"I said putting my purse on the table

"Yeah okay" she said walking out not before saying"If you want to order something for your office you can always charge it to the company"

Wait I could do that?Just how rich is Miss Grumpy.Oh yeah she owns a chain of Jewelry stores

Staring at the office I wondered how I should design it. I could always get potted plants around the room. A beige curtain. Some couch for taking breaks. A coffee maker. A mini fridge. Don't judge me it's for emergencies when I work late in the night

Yep that's it. Now to get her schedules before she fires my ass

I turned on the computer on my desk and saw I had already been logged in to the company's website. An email popped up on the screen. Clicking on it I saw Miss Grumpy sent me a welcoming to the company email and a copy of this month schedule

I guess this makes my work easier. Clicking on it I saw she even had scheduled time for meeting her parents

Seriously!!?? Can't you just excuse your so called calender to see your parents at any time

Speaking of parents I should really call my moms.Getting my phone I dialed their numbers for a group conversation

"Hola mamá"I smiled

"Hola mi princesa,you at work?"my mom Lilith asked

"Sí mamá I just started"

"Aww and you called just to tell us that Lexi honey you spoiled your daughter too much"my mom cooed

"Hey she's your daughter too Lily"my other mom beamed

"I'd really love to listen to you guys bicker all day but the office phone just rang"

"Love you mamà and mom,gotta go" I said hanging up not before an I love you from both of them

"Miss Ealwood's office how may I direct your call" I said professionally after picking up

"Can I speak to Athena?" Came a rude reply

Are people close to her always this bitchy?

"Who is this so I can alert her first?" I said politely

"Just fucking direct the call to her" she shouted

"I'm sorry ma'am I can't do that without knowing your name." I sighed frustrated

"Just tell her it's the mother of her daughter" she said I knew she was irritated by the tone of her voice."

Daughter!!How?

"Okay give me a second to get you through" I said.

Putting her on hold I called Miss Grumpy over the office phone

"Hello Miss...a woman claiming to be the mother of your daughter wants me to put her through to you,should I?" I asked nervously

There was a silence on the other line and you could tell she had grounded her teeth when she said no. She didn't just say she meant it

I got the call out of hold and told the woman no and hanged up not wanting to hear her cuss me

A knock on the wooden door got me to sit up straight

"Come in" I said

Miss Grumpy came in looking as red in the cheeks as ever. Why is she angry at me I didn't call the woman

She stared at me for a while without saying anything until she released a breath and said," If she calls again do NOT speak to her or even listen to what she has to say,got it? She said

"Yes Miss" I replied too scared to anger her

"Good now we have a meeting in five so you better be by my car when I get to the garage"

With that she left,leaving a shaken me

Shaking my head I picked my purse and locked my office. Took the elevator to the garage

"We're taking the Bentley" Miss Grumpy's voice beamed in the garage startling me in the process. How fast did she get here

Going to the said car I opened the door for her and went to the driver's side. Thank you mamà for the driving lessons I don't know what I'd do without you

I put the GPS to the address she asked me to go to

Driving in awkward silence I felt her shift uncomfortably before she turned to face me. I glanced at her wondering what she had to say

" Yes Miss? Can I get you anything?" I cautiously asked

She cleared her throat before saying"Uh...yeah..sorry about the office thing I did not mean to sound rude at all."

"It's okay Miss no need to apologise,a lot of people are always rude,just their nature."

WAIT!!!!!!! WTF!!Es,she's going to fire me. Me and my big mouth. I wanted to slap myself so bad

"What I meant....I meant ..I didn't mean it like that Miss....I.. I'm sorry." I whispered

Miss Ealwood who had her eyes wide opened shook her head and chuckled

"It's alright Hernandez,a lot of people consider me rude it's not new"

"I'm really sorry Miss I didn't mean it that way,you were just angry and we always don't mean what we say when we're angry"I apologized

"Like I said it's okay and I'm also sorry. That woman just brings out the monster in me" she hissed

"Pardon me Miss but can I ask a question?"

She smirked,"I know what you want to ask and yes I have a daughter with her unfortunately"

I'm sure my jaw was hanging out how can she say it's unfortunate to have a child?

"No,I didn't mean I regret having a daughter I meant I regret it had to be with someone like her."she corrected having seen the shocked look on my face

"I take it things didn't go well?"

"You could say that, we are here." She said changing the subject

Did we just have a conversation back there?

Getting out I opened the door for her and saw what looked like some abandoned apartment

"Are we going in there?"I hesitantly questioned hesitantly

"We are not going in there,I am"she said starting to walk away

What the hell am I supposed to do just let her go into some creepy apartment alone?

As if reading my thoughts she said," Stay inside the car and don't get out no matter what

I just nodded and got inside

An hour passed and she had not yet come out.

Is she working for the mafia? Is that how she is so rich? Maybe she kills people as a part-time job? What did I get myself into?Should I call the cops?What if her people come and get me as her revenge?

Many thoughts were running in my head. But I dismissed it all when I saw her standing in all her glory

I opened the door for her and we drove back to the office in silence

"You can go home now Miss Hernandez I'll be fine the rest of the day." She said finally breaking the silence

Not wanting to question her I just got out of the car and handed her the keys

She didn't even look me in the eye and I'd I hadn't been an observer I wouldn't have noticed the blood stain on her neck

Dismissing it as nothing I left the building and grabbed a taxi

I got home at seven pm.

That was the weirdest day at work I ever had.

First day at work and I came back early but that don't mean it will always be that way

Getting home I microwaved last night's pizza and ate it. I can always call the guys and my moms tomorrow

I decided to watch"I'm not okay with this" before I slept

Can't wait for my second day with Miss Grumpy. I smiled at that thought before falling asleep
