Hestia's POV
Closing the door behind me I chuckled to myself
Did that just happen?Did it?She just flirted right?
Walking to my office I sat and began checking up her upcoming events. Marking the time and the venue on my diary I sighed and logged off
Looks like I have nothing for the rest of the day except when and impromptu meeting occurs then I can relax
Taking my phone out I called Jade up,she has her shift in the evening at the bar today so I know am not interrupting anything unless she has a girl over. I don't wanna be a pussyblocker but I need to share my excitement with someone. Blair is busy at the restaurant while Charles is at the studio
"Hey girly"I chirped as soon as she picked up
"Ugh why are you so cheery it's only eight in the morning."
Jade has never been a morning person,but who cares now I need my best friend
"Can't I just be happy and call my best friend up?"I said
"No...no...now why'd you call boo because I wanna go back to sleep?" She yawned
"Come on Jay just be a little alive for five minutes"I pouted
"I know you can't see me but I'm pouting Jay" I added
"Fine fine what's up sunshine?"she gave in
"Remember how I told you Miss Grumpy hates me?"I questioned
"Yeah you said you hated her bitchy attitude"
"Hate is a strong word to phrase it but that's not it."I defended
"Had a change of heart?"she chuckled
"That's not it....well that was close but not it,she came in and invited me for coffee in her office and she literally makes the best coffee. Better than mamà's but don't tell I said that,I chuckled.We then talked a lot about ourselves and I even got to know a little about her. She's a big sweetheart if you get to know her. I know it's too soon to speak but I do know that she's just putting out a bitchy front so no one would try to get close to her but knowing me I'd dig in and find the real her. That's a promise"
"Aaaaw baby am so proud of you I really thought she'd bite your head off,"Jade squealed
"I know right plus I think she tried to flirt with me...at least that's what I think...maybe not ....I mean who would want to flirt with a nobody like me. I can't be enough for her plus am straight." I said
I don't even know why I felt a little pang in my heart when she said she was only teasing. Of course she wouldn't be interested in a lowlife
Am nothing compared to her successful ass. And am STRAIGHT so yeah there's that. But I still couldn't help but feel hurt
"Straight my ass just say you're intimidated by her" Jade scoffed
"Jade you know I've never been attracted to any woman"I rolled my eyes
"Who's to say you won't ever,maybe she's the one for you,you won't know unless you try babe."she reasoned
"Are you out of your mind Jay!!! She's my boss for crying out loud."I argued
"Who cares?Love knows no bounds especially statuses."
"Love???? I questioned,you are moving way to fast Jay
"That's beside the point I'm trying to make,you know what I meant. I bet you a hundred you guys will be a thing by the end of the year"she challenged
"What if it doesn't happen,"I asked
It might be a win for me because I know there's no one she and I could ever be a thing
I have nothing against her I just know she's way out of my league. Plus I can't have people spreading awful rumors about me
Her being famous the paparazzi must be behind her ass poking their heads in her business.
However if she was able to keep her daughter out of the scandals then it could be possible
What the heck am I saying?
No there's no way a thing is happening so I shouldn't be worrying
"Then I'll be giving you a hundred,"Jay said
"It's a deal" I beamed positive that I'll be winning
"Just don't back down when I'm winning"I knew she was smirking
"Yeah yeah fine, didn't you want to sleep?"I laughed
"Ugh you kept me for thirty minutes I just lost my sleep,"she groaned
"Haha I'll see you later Jay"I said hanging up.
I chuckled to myself. Jay has something coming if she thinks she's going to win
Me and Athena yeah right. That's just stupid
Thinking about the conversation I had with her I'm all smiles. She's the first person I got comfortable around within two days of being around her. She's just so easy to talk to and the way she pays attention to what I say just makes me giddy
Learning about her daughter Roselia and her bitch of an ex I felt almost close to her. Of course I don't want to keep my hopes up of us being even closer friends
But I think the closeness was already established when she asked me to call her first basis name.
The way her eyes stared intensely at me when I told her about me or when I said something about my friends,how her hazel eyes would light up when she talked about her daughter. Am just grateful I got to see this side of her before I judged her too much
She called me Esty today again. I don't know what's with the nickname but I feel like I've heard it sometime before
When I have my episodes where I remember a thing or two about myself before my accident I always hear a little girl call me Esty the same name Athena calls me. It must be a coincidence. She must know someone with the same name and calls her that
But hearing her call me Esty sends me shivers. Her voice is so deep and soothing
I wonder how she sounds moa....
"Gross i thought you said you straight"I heard Laylani
Why does she always interrupt me, claiming to be some writer of my life story
"That's because I write your story little girl,I can destroy it you know"she chuckled
"Just go away Laylani I'm not in the mood,don't you have something to do? Yes I am straight what's it to you? I snapped
"Woah take it easy kiddo am only starting facts ya know"
"What facts?"I asked annoyed
"That I control your little life and I can let Jade win your little Bet "Esty" she mocked
"Oh please as if you could"I scoffed uninterested
"Wanna find out"she said smugly
"No now please leave me alone." I said
I honestly wasn't up for any more bets or challenges with anyone especially not some creepo claiming to be some writer of my story
"Hey am no creepo" Laylani grunted
Ignore her Es,she'll just go away
"Uh....rude...you'll need me kiddo"
Yeah right as if I would need her
Stupid
Like I was saying before I was rudely interrupted I wonder how she sounds moa.....
My phone rang startling me, groaning I picked it up. This better be important. Can't people wait for better moments to interrupt
"Esty can you please come to my office," I sat up when I heard Athena's voice
"Right away" I said without hesitation
"Great"
I wonder what's so important that she didn't use the office phone
Walking into her office I noticed a little girl and a middle-aged woman seated on the couches
That must be her daughter she looks a lot like her. Especially her hazel eyes,her black jet hair and for a kid her jaw is just perfect like hers
"You asked for me Miss?" I didn't want to disrespect her before the woman and her daughter
"Yes I did,I'm inviting you to lunch with us."she said
I was beyond shocked... first coffee then lunch. What's next?A Dinner date?
Shaking my head at the thought I nodded my head
