Chapter 4: Lover Boy

A teeming gorgeous smile greets me as I open the door to see Carol. She looks different. She's wearing a black and white jacket, grey leggings and sneakers. She also has her headphones on.

"Well hello there girl I can't believe I'm dating." I say both nervously and confidently.

She breaks into a small chuckle and slyly whispers something.

"Hello there boy I'm planning on spending the night with." just like that she brushes past me and enters the house.

Max follows behind her and casually says "wasup" in a her usual manner and of course she brought a girl with her. I swear it's too easy for Max to pick up girls.

We all sit around the living room table and I notice Max flirting subtly with the girl he brought.

"So, I'm Angelo. You must be...?" I ask interrupting their current affairs.

"Oh pardon me. I'm Claris, I'm-"

"She's my Girlfriend." Max chimes in and gently kisses her cheek.

I am left shocked at the site and so is Carol. Max rarely dates and when she does date, you know she really cares. I'm happy for her.

Carol kisses me and goes to setup my new game console. She looks around at the decent number of games that came with it and chooses one before turning to look at me with a grin. In a moment I see the TV light up and I'm shocked. She chose Street Fighter. My favourite game. I play that game more than any other game I have

"No, anything but that. Angelo never loses." Max complains when he sees the loading screen.

"I've been practicing at home. My Cammy is a killer." Carol responds as she hands over the other controller to me.

"See you around bro. Your girl was on fire today. She almost got you." Max says as her girlfriend waves and says a small bye.

Claris was really cool. She was Max's perfect match. I hope they work out. Max can be difficult.

"You did good my Winter-Solstice. I didn't think you'd get that good so fast." I say to Carol as I take her into a deep kiss.

"Well you did need some competition and I like the new nickname. It's still really early. I am still yet to give you my present?" Carol flirts as she puts her arms around my neck.

"I've been really curious what it is. Care to let me in on the big secret." I say to her.

She gently takes out her phone and connects to the speakers in the house. She starts playing My Dear Melancholy album by The Weeknd. She then takes my arm and leads me up the stairs.

I'm curious now. She's never done this. And her choice in music is excellent. I just wish she could make it official. I know we date but then I mean really official. Because she doesn't like labels but I want the full package with her.

We get into my room and luckily I had cleaned up when I got home from school. She turns back to me and smiles like a vixen. She then kisses me deeply and my instincts kick in. I put my arms around her wait and begin to kiss back.

"Wait, what are we doing?" I gasp and she continues to kiss me.

"Something I should've done a long time ago."

She kisses me unexpectedly and mercilessly, not letting me process the moment. Carol pulls away, looks into my eyes and tells me that all she wants is to stay with me and just like that, I let her.

She's in my arms and she looks so gorgeous, her soft olive skin, her brown eyes. She's curvy and short and her hair is styled into medium-length curls. Her dad is from South Africa and her mom is from Egypt. I wish my family was that exotic.

The only thing I know is that my dad was from Zimbabwe or something. It's a country that neighbours South Africa. I only know this because Kelly is from there too. I don't know about my mom though.

"Hey, there lover boy," Carol says as she kisses me out of my obvious ogling.

"Hey baby, so I heard you say you wanted to make us official."

"Oh yeah. I realised I've been really unfair. I can't be half involved and I really care about you. I guess I just wanna do us."

"You know, I've been in love with you for the longest time, Carol. And I would've waited regardless of how long it was." I say.

"I know. And I love you too."

That sends ripples inside me. She loves me. And I love her.

"I know I've caused you problems that you don't wanna talk about with me but if it gets bad, promise me you'll leave." She says softly.

"Nothing bad has happened because of you ok."

"Please, promise me. If I become trouble you'll leave."

"Ok, I promise." I promise to calm her down.

We stay like that, huddled up together. An hour passes and we both get up to clean up. And of course Kelly might arrive soon, she'll freak if she finds out I fucked in her house.

I hear a honk and Carol gets her bag and rushes to me.

"I called an uber by the way, I have to get home, I still have Biology homework I didn't finish."

"Scotts will kill you, better get it done quick. I love you." I say to her and hold the door for her.

"Bye, I love you too and yes I better get that shit done. You were amazing by the way, for a virgin," she says running out.

"You were amazing too, for a virgin!" I yell to her as she enters the uber.

"What?" I hear Kelly ask behind me. She apparently came from the other side of the road. Shit.

"Nothing Kelly, I was just saying bye is all," I say hoping she didn't hear me.

"Aha, I hope you used protection." She says smacking my head and walking in.

"What do you mean, I don't know what you're talking about."

"Be careful of that human Angelo. I sense something off about her." Abhartach suddenly makes an appearance. I'm honestly glad he didn't pop up this whole time. Would've been awkward.

"She's my girlfriend and I've known her since we were kids. Nothing is off about her." I respond.

"I sense something very familiar. Something I was once linked to. I'm definitely sure I know what it is and I'm very sure it's dangerous." He continues

"She feels like a force of nature. We should look into it."

"Ok, you know what, you're a six thousand year old vampire and I'm sure this is nothing." I say to him.

"She's the only one who uses your other name besides your Aunt." He says to me.

"Yeah, she sometimes calls me Sam and sometimes Angelo. I'm cool with it. Besides it's not a big deal."

"In your memories she never used to call you Angelo. I wonder what changed."

"It's nothing, you're overthinking it." I respond to his crazy notion.

"Let's hope so."
