It was close to daytime, and naturally the house was emptying into their own rooms for rest. As Iggy walked through the doorway of his room for the first time in a long time, remembering it only because of how close it was to the main staircase, the smell of flowers hit him hard, yet pleasantly. He turned, shut the door behind himself, and planted his face into his palms.
He didn’t even notice Baine sitting on the couch with one arm resting on the edge, holding his head up by the chin, while the other held a book open on his lap. “Interesting demonstration tonight,” Baine startled him. He looked up from the pages and met Iggy’s gaze without much expression. “I wouldn’t have thought that you’d come to the light side.”
