13: Seeking Balance

Later on he asked her, “Were you really that nervous about me making moves?”

She shrugged. “I didn’t expect it,” she said.

“The best thing about sex is the spontaneity.”

“I know,” came the husky reply.

He let the issue die there and went about serving her dessert.

After the meal Greg sent Donna to bed.

“What about the dishes?”

“You think I can’t load a dish washer?” he asked incredulously. “The housekeeper will sort them out in the morning. I’m just going to take a quick shower to get this sweat off then I’ll come to sleep.”

“Alright. I’m taking my pills so I’ll most likely be gone. G’night.”

“Good night.”

He locked up and went to take a quick warm shower.

As he bathed, he thought of the conversations he and Donna had had over the course of the day. Naturally he had done most of the talking because her throat and face hurt, but he remembered the question she had asked about them getting to know each other intimately. Why do we have to date anyway?
