What a firecracker

"Are you for real?" Abby looked up at him, totally lost for words. The urge to dent his pride and wipe the annoying smile off his face was stronge. How can a man be shamelessly blowing his own trumpet like this? He's just shameless!

"Better get over yourself dude cos you are not that important to me." She blurted out to him.

"Well you and I both know you are lying girl," He said with conviction, wearing the annoying smile again. He knew for a fact that she had tried calling him not once but several times while he was away.

She might be thinking because her calls didn't connect to his as at the time she called that he wouldn't find out she tried calling.

What she didn't know was that he immediately got her call's signal the moment she had dialed his number. Pity he was not able to call her back where he was.

'...but how could he have known I was lying?' Abby wondered since she knew for a fact that her calls never connected to him.

"I'm sure you've missed me quite a lot in these past six weeks. You can admit it you know...there's nothing to be ashamed about" he said with a wink. And for what its worth, I've missed you too"

Abby rolled her eyes upward at him in exasperation, but the act only made him chuckled at her instead in amusement.

"Why are you here Paul?...because I can't remember inviting you," she asked, glaring at him in annoyance.

"I came to take you out on a date."

"...and you were so sure I would be going with you right? So very sure of your power of conviction hmm?... Whatever cos it doesn't even matter anyway, my answer is No!"

"Okay! I get it. I wasn't polite enough is that it? Let me try again then. Would you be kind enough to go on a date with me please, if you don't mind?" He tried repeating the invitation in a much nicer way.

"I do mind and I'm not interested. Can you please go away now?"

"Why?...because I didn't call you?" He asked her bluntly with his facial expression that never ceases to mock her.

'Of course, he was right again, did he have the power to read minds? Were my emotions that transparent to him?' She stupidly wondered. Her annoyance with him and herself surge up more.

Truly she rejected him mainly because he stood her up and didn't even feel bad about it, instead everything that comes out of his mouth was mocking her.

Did he think he could just appear and disappear...commanding her to go on a date with him at will? Not possible because she's not going to give him that satisfaction.

"No! How could it be because you didn't call me?" She outrightly denied? "It's because you are annoyingly arrogant, conceited, so full of yourself, so..."

"Wait, wait, wait...all these negative adjectives for poor me?" He cut in feigning surprise.

"Don't fucking interrupt me again when I'm talking okay!" She glared at him. He made a show of zipping his mouth shut but his brown eyes still danced with amusement.

'Jeez she's fire and it just happens that I love playing with fire' he thought to himself with amusement.

"You can't just turn up on my street asking for a date without prior notice or call, assuming I'd just jump up happily and follow you like I'm some kind of a jobless, aimless individual.

You must be so full of yourself Paul, so sure of your conviction ability. It's now very obvious to me that you are used to girls asking how high whenever you ask them to jump, and you are mistaken if you think I'm one of those girls, Mister. Excuse me, I have an appointment to keep."

She said angrily and turned to leave when he suddenly grabbed her arm and pull her to him, kissing her immediately.

'Wow, what a firecracker! Thank God she's not one of the girls she just described. Exactly what his two ex-girlfriends were. They nearly bore him to death.'

She's not intimidated by him, which made her the first woman ever, apart from his mom to talk to him like that, speaking her mind while spitting fire in his face in the process. Now I really must fuck her before she becomes an addiction to me.' He thought to himself.

He was not used to rejection from women and wasn't expecting her to refuse him too, not when they already had an agreement to go on another date six weeks ago when their first date was interrupted by his work.

He thought she would welcome him with open arms even though he couldn't call her as promised. He couldn't even remember the last time he pursued a woman not to talk of one talking him down...but damn! She's feisty.

'This one here is going to be a challenge. A challenge that I'm going to enjoy conquering'. He thought with excitement about the bet he made about her with his brothers which he was sure to win.

He initially wanted to kiss her smack on the mouth just to shut her up and tame a little bit of her temper. But after his lips connected with hers, he couldn't just pull away, and coupled with the fact that he has been wanting to kiss her for a long time.

He savored the sweet taste and softness of her warm lips. She tasted fresh, minty, and very tantalizing. Her fragrance was mesmerizing, pulling him deeper and deeper into her.

He was expecting her to pull back from him. With her feisty attitude, he was even anticipating a slap. What he wasn't expecting was her response to his kiss, and he was surprised. He happily deepened the kiss, exploring every nook and cranny of her deliciousness.
