A shameless flirt

D'Glamour Beauty Parlour was not just about hair barbing and styling alone, it occupied the whole of a big three-story building located inside Angel Estate, Lekki Lagos.

It has a different department that offers a variety of services like the manicure and pedicure department, makeover and makeup application department, a spa department that offers skincare and esthetician services plus a big shop that sells cosmetics, hair extensions, wigs, and different hair accessories.

D'Glamour was among the top five most popular beauty salons in the whole of Lagos state. It was owned by a middle-aged, twice-divorced mother of two, both boys from her first marriage. Nobody knows her by her real name, all her patrons called her by her business name, D'Glamour.

You will need an appointment if you want to be attended to by D'Glamour herself, which was even not given to just anybody except if you are a well-known person in the society or somebody like Abby who is well known to D'Glamour because of the international standard designs she gets from Abby at a low price.

They both arrived twenty minutes later than the appointment. Immediately Abby entered the salon, she started apologizing...

"D'Glamour I'm so sorry for the delay, I had an unexpected visitor and..."

"No need for apology Abby, you of all people know the rule that at D'Glamour, no time is wasted, every time is precious and paid for." She said with a smile, knowing that the lost time will, of course, be calculated and added to Abby's bill.

They were both conversing in Yoruba (the language spoken in the southwestern part of Nigeria).

"Is this your man?" She asked Abby with a surprised look on her face, while immediately saying "hi" to Tunde without waiting for an introduction.

"Yes!...but he doesn't understand Yoruba and doesn't like to talk too much, so you need not talk to him." Abby quickly interjected. 'you are not going to sink your fangs into this one, you shameless flirt!' Abby thought to herself.

D'Glamour was a well-known man-eater who was not usually ashamed to openly flirt with any man she likes and set her eyes on. Rumors have it that her two divorces happened because she cheated on both husbands.

"Oh! he's soo handsome..." She gushed in Yoruba, almost drooling all over the handsome man in front of her.

"Are you sure you can handle him Abby?...you'll have to be careful my dear, men like him usually find it difficult to stay with one woman, since they are used to women always flocking around them."

Even though she was talking in Yoruba, Abby was not comfortable with the conversation since the person they were talking about was sitting beside her while doing whatever on his phone.

"It's fine...thank you for the advice " Abby politely replied but her tone of voice clearly said she doesn't want to continue with the conversation.

D'Glamour excused herself then and came back after some minutes with one of her assistants in tow, heavily laden with different lengths and colors of hair extensions, wigs, and weaves plus a thick catalog of different hairstyles which she handed over to Tunde.

"What type of hairstyle would you prefer her to make?" She asked Tunde directly in English, ignoring Abby.

"I'm sorry...but didn't I previously discuss with you the type of hairstyle I want and my color preference?" Abby glared with irritation at D'Glamour.

"Yes!...but I thought your man might want something different since he took his time to accompany you here and..."

"I told you I want long box braids with wine hair extension..." Abby cut her off mid-sentence. Now can we just get this over with?" She said forcefully, angry at D'Glamour who was looking for an opportunity to have a conversation with Tunde.

"Her choice is my choice ma'am" Tunde intervened and laughed inwardly, amused at Abby's jealousy.

Three hours later, Abby's braids and nails were perfectly done.

"Waoo! This is beautiful. You look sensational" he awed and commented "this woman is good at what she does."

"Yes!...she's quite good when she's not busy scheming and shamelessly flirting with every Tom, Dick, and Harry" Abby blurted out.

"If I wasn't mistaken, I would have said you were jealous" Tunde leaned towards Abby and whispered into her ear.

"Get lost!... You are clearly mistaken okay"

'Yeah right, who does she think she's deceiving' Tunde thought and chuckled.

D"Glamour sauntered over to where they were sitting and stood in front of Tunde. "So do you like the style on her sir?"

"I love it, you've done a great job"

D'Glamour was happy when she heard how the handsome man complimented her work. She flirtatiously bats her fake eyelashes at him, not minding that Abby was there. 'He's exactly my type. He's going to be too much for her to handle anyway' she thought.

"We've not been introduced..." She said, extending her hand to Tunde "...people call me D'Glamour"

"Paul" he replied, taking the hand she offered. Normally he wouldn't be standing this close to this kind of being but he enjoyed watching the firecracker shoot out daggers from her eyes at the flirt all because of him.

"May I have the bill please?..."

Abby cut in abruptly, barely concealing her irritation and jealousy at D'Glamour.

'How could she be this shameless! flirting with her customer's man, right in her presence?' Abby wondered but amazed at her line of thought...

'Did I just think of him as my man?...has my brain gone on vacation without me?... I've not been thinking straight ever since this man came into my life' She glared at him as if the fact that she couldn't control her emotions was his fault.

One of the attendants brought the bill and Paul snatched it away just when Abby reach out her hand to collect it. He didn't even glance at it before handing his debit card over for payment.

"Oh you don't have to, I have cash here" she attempted to get the bill back from Paul.

"Eh!?... How can you say that Abby...isn't he your man? Please allow him to pay now"

"Can you please put a sock in it and mind your business!... Jeez, woman! what the fuck is your problem!?"

Abby snapped angrily, not minding the age difference between, them and stormed out of the salon, closely followed by Tunde.
