The clash of fire and ice

Abby and her mom, Julianna didn't have a typical mother-daughter relationship, they are more like best friends who confide in each other about everything. Since she knew Abby hadn't been with any man yet, Abby wondered how she would react when she finds out her daughter's first time with a man was a one-night stand.

The knock at the bathroom door had stopped by the time Abby eventually calms down. Her eyes were swollen from too much crying, she washed her face but there was no way to conceal her puffed eyes since she didn't carry any makeup kit in her small bag.

Tunde was sitting down on the floor space between the bathroom and the laundry room, smoking when she finally opened the bathroom door.

"Finally!" He muttered. Snuffed out the cigarette he was smoking on the silver arch tray he had beside him and stood up.

"Are you okay?" He asked with concern. He noticed her eyes were red and swollen from too much crying and knowing he might be the cause of her sadness pained him. His heart aches to see her like that.

"Yes." She answered curtly

"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked following her to the center of the bedroom.

"No"

"Care to tell me why?" He asked again, coming to stand in front of her.

In a bid to avoid his prying eyes, her eyes fell on the bright red stain on the bed. She quickly moved towards the bed and started removing the duvet.

"What are you doing?"

"Need to wash off the stain. I can't just leave it like that."

"Don't worry, it will be taken care of, let's talk first talk about what's bothering you."

"I'm not leaving it for your house help to see, I'll take care of it myself."

"I said leave it the fuck alone and let's talk about this!... What the fuck is your problem?" He suddenly snapped at her.

Tunde was not used to people disagreeing with him. He usually gives order and people follow and on her part she was not used to people snapping at her. In her twenty years on earth, none of her family members had ever raised their voice at her.

"Don't you raise your voice at me okay... Don't! She shouted right back at him, her eyes flashing with anger.

"When you're upset about something, you talk about it, isn't that simple logic? He said, pointing towards his head like he was telling her to use hers. He wished he could shake some sense into her head.

"Dude, I don't care if you are the chief of the army or whatever... You don't get to talk to me like you're crazy... And you're the last person I want to talk to right now okay, so please just leave me alone." Who better than the root cause of her twenty minutes moment of loss could she vent her anger out on anyway?

"Dude!?... How dare you to talk to me in such a manner?...  And what gave you the right to think that you could talk to me like you're crazy?" His eyes went hard and cold, shooting icicles towards her blazing ones.

"How the fuck am I suppose to talk to you?... Sir dude?" She called him exactly that again, her eyes challenging him to do his worst.

Abby knew she was taking her annoyance too far and asking for trouble for such blatant disrespect on Mr high and mighty, but who cares?, 'I sure don't care. That's what he gets for seducing me' she thought shamelessly as if everything was entirely his fault.

They stared furiously at each other, she was fearless, not afraid to stand up to him. He was exasperated by her childish behavior. Amused by the smaller, furious frame standing up against him for whatever reasons he didn't even know.

'This is great!... Who would dare have the guts to stand in front of me with such attitude? I would have flayed the person alive... But she's doing it. Just great!' He thought angrily. 'I am royally fucked! What has she reduced me to?' He willed himself to calm down and said forcefully...

"Everything was alright before, so what the fuck's with the shitty mood all of a sudden? How am I suppose to deal with this if you won't talk to me, huh?... Let's talk about it right now" he declared while glaring at her.

"I'm-just-not-in-the-mood-to-talk-to-you! Don't you get!?" she stressed out her words. "Besides what is there to talk about?... You got what you wanted, didn't you?"

Her voice came out strained and in a whisper. She was scared. She just had sex with a guy she barely knows. A guy who had only talked about the attraction between them but never for once says he like her. How could she have made such a drastic mistake?

"Whatever! I'm done making you see reason." He said angrily. "I don't have time for your childish and nonsense attitude."

This wasn't the kind of reply Abby wanted to hear. She was now very angry. The little ability to think rationally that she had left in her immediately flew right out the window.

"Oh wow! Childish and nonsense attitude you say?..." She glared at him dead in the eyes "You said you were trying to make me see reason? What reason can you make me see? Do you even know how to be reasonable with a woman? Do you!?"

"For fuck's sake! This is the kind of headache and drama I detest and try to avoid. I wouldn't have touched you with a six feet pole if I had known you were a damn virgin okay?"

Abby laughed bitterly. "See why you and I can't be reasonable together? In fact, we can never be reasonable together. Do you think I would have come within twelve feet of you if I had known you were such a damn numbskull!?"

"Better watch your damn mouth or else..."

"Or else what!?... You will beat me up!? Just try it. I will have you know I have three big brothers okay? Each of them is as tall and huge as you so come try it and see if you'll like yourself afterward!"

He laughed dryly. 'This girl is crazy! Who's talking about beating her up!? Thought you said handling her would be fun huh? You like her feistiness right?' He thought to himself incredulously

"Ohhh... I'm scared"

"Yeah, you should be. Please open the damn door, let me get out of here..."

"Why!? Couldn't you just fly through the damn door!?... Crazy bitch!"

"I would have done just that if I could... World best asshole! Just open the damn door!"

"I'll drop you off"

"I don't need you to drop me off, I'll get a cab by myself"

"Enough of the stupidity already! You can't get a cab inside here. I'll fucking drop you off and that's it." he said coldly with a voice that leaves no room for argument, then made his way towards the dressing room.

"Gotta change so hold your high horses."

"Whatever! I'll be waiting downstairs," she replied coldly
