The red devil

Authors note:-

This is where I start introducing the villains and female antagonists. Who remembers the Devils from chapter 5? Villain number 1, The Red Devil.

~^~

Three years ago, on the 5th of February to be precise, the Ituha brothers were forced to flee Nigeria. Even though they saw it coming, it still felt unexpected when the police came at 3 am while they were sleeping off the effect of the previous night's party.

They got a hint about the raid six months before it happened through the informant they had inside the police force. While The Investigation And Intelligence Agency (IAIA), were busy gathering enough air-tight evidence that would get them a one-way ticket to hell through capital punishment, preparations for the brothers to live conveniently outside the country were going on, and all preparations were already in place before the police came.

The brothers left Nigeria, thumbing their noses at the country, and its people who were betrayed by those that promised to serve and protect them. They have declared wanted for: organized crime, serial bomb blast, drug trafficking, weapon trafficking, prostitution, contract killing, extortion, robbery, fraud, money laundering, human trafficking, and kidnapping.

Ighile, the red devil stood up from beside Annette his fiancee. She was a beautiful Panamanian that he met on a beach along Acapulco Bay in Mexico. She reminded him of home the first time he saw her dressed in an outfit that was made out of Ankara fabric. He also liked how she was built thick like real women back home in Nigeria.

He missed home. He missed his former life. He missed the thrill from killing... The excitement and adrenaline rush that comes from holding the grip of a gun and his favorite folding serrated blade.

He especially missed the rush of pleasure he gets whenever he holds a gun to some unfortunate individual's head. That pleasure always gives him a hard-on... He always craved sex after every killing. Oh, how he missed that life so much. He wondered when he would be feeling the rush again or if he would ever feel the rush again.

He looked at himself in the bathroom mirror... A different man of Latin American nationality stares back at him. Light brown skin, buzz hair cut, and green contact lenses. He is now Francisco López, a respectable Mexican businessman. All traces of his previous life, what he represented, and who he was had all been wiped off.

The real Francisco López was lying at the bottom of the sea as fish food. He was a homeless man who was murdered so Ighile could have his identity. No parents, wife, or children would miss him. He was a vagrant. Even the government would be glad a filth was removed from the many filths that littered the cities of Mexico.

The Ituha brothers were once filths themselves. They grew up from street urchins to juvenile delinquencies then to hardened criminals who were ringleaders of Nigeria's most dreaded crime syndicate called The Devils.

After so many years in the crime business, they had millions of dollars stashed away in Swiss and Cayman accounts. Millions of dollars gave them their new lives and identity.

Ighile came out of the bathroom wearing a black satin kimono and walked out of the bedroom leaving Annette snoring softly on the bed. He knew she wasn't a heavy sleeper so he had made sure she wouldn't wake up during his chat with his brother. To Annette, he was a Mexican businessman and he would remain one till death do them part.

Before they departed Nigeria, the brothers opened for themselves secure email accounts that don't keep records and reveal identities to contact each other with. They had kept in touch with each other on every first Saturday of the month, 3 am Nigerian time. The exact day and time they left the country.

He entered his study and locked the door from inside before sitting in front of his computer. As soon as the computer was powered on, he started getting ready for a video call when he noticed the red dot on the message icon. He clicked on the Icon and got a one-word message from Ighide; 'TAKEN!'

'Taken!? What's that supposed to mean!? Is this some kind of sick joke from Ighide!?" He wondered as he checked the date that the message was sent. He saw it was a month ago. The day they last chatted with each other and the time was two hours after their chat.

The brothers had never missed a day of chatting with each other in the past three years of their escape.

''Something is certainly not right!''

He murmured to himself as he tried logging into his brother's account. He however got a shocker when he saw the account no longer exist.

A cold hand of fear gripped ighile's heart as he came to a realization. His older brother, Ighide as been taken! The only family he had left in the world. The only family that he ever knew.

But who did this!? How did they know where to get him? Nobody knew where they escaped to. He was the only person in this world that knows where Ighide lived and vice versa, it was only Igbide that knew where he lived also.

Ighile started sweating profusely despite the cool air blowing from the air conditioner. He knew his brother would rather die than give up his location. But he's not about to take any chances. That means this place is no longer his haven. Not until he finds out what happened to his brother.

But whoever did this would pay. From the oldest person in their family to the smallest mice that eat from their trash. He would make sure they all perished. He immediately got up and rushed towards the bedroom to wake Annette. They are moving out to another city today.
