Daichi looked around the courtyard then back at his phone. The last text from Temari said she would meet him here under their tree, but she wasn't here. It had been ten minutes already... Where was she?
"DAICHI!" his cousin's voice shrieked across the courtyard. He looked up from his phone to see Kinjo barreling towards him, her hair sticking out in wild directions, and a large destroyed book in her hands.
"What happened to you, fell asleep in class?" Daichi laughed at his little cousin.
"Your bimbo bitch just attacked me and Temari!" she exclaimed.
"What are you talking about?" Daichi asked, raising his eyebrows as she stood over him. He didn't even know Kinjo knew Temari.
"Mitsui!" Kinjo exclaimed, her cheeks were flushed with a fiery red color, resentment burning in her eyes. "She attacked the both of us. I'm fine but Temari.. She..." The concern in his cousins voice alarmed Daichi.
Daichi stood up immediately, his jaw taught and brow furred. That explained why she wasn't here. A panic gripped his stomach as his hands began to sweat.
"Is Temari okay?" Daichi asked. "Where is she?"
"She ran off, I don't know where she went," Kinjo said, frazzled. "Her brother ran off after her. She was freaking out, Mitsui tore her sketchbook apart, it's ruined." For the first time Daichi noticed the book in Kinjo's hands was Temari's sketchbook, torn pages sticking out of its covers which themselves were covered in dirty footprints.
"Let me see that," Daichi took the book and opened it.
"I tried to get as many pieces as I could, but Mitsui shredded the pages." Kinjo said.
Daichi stared down at it, more anger and frustration building inside of him. He knew Mitsui was cold, but not this cold. Why would she even do something like this? This book meant everything to her, she was so cautious about people seeing what's inside of it. Was this why? His chest ached at the thought of Temari in tears. He had seen such a beautiful side to her. She opened up to him about her pain.
"I don't know what's going on," Kinjo said, shrugging her shoulders. "Hell, I didn't even know you and Temari had a thing going on until recently or I would have warned her about Mitsui..." Kinjo trailed off. "But this... Temari doesn't deserve this! Daichi, she's a good, sweet innocent girl!"
"I know she is," Daichi muttered angrily. Mitsui had to have seen them together. She probably got jealous even though they weren't even together to begin with. Daichi shut the book, a pain tugging in his chest as he remembered how excited Temari had been when he first returned this book to her. Her beautiful blue eyes had lit up, her perfect lips formed the most joyous smile. Now, he wouldn't blame Temari if she never wanted to see him again. "I'll take care of this. I'll make this right."
"How?" Kinjo demanded.
Daichi took a deep breath and grabbed his bag off the ground. He threw it over his shoulders and walked into the cafeteria. It bustled with students, however it didn't take him long to find Mitsui's ostentatious hair. He approached the table she sat at, fixing her makeup in a small compact mirror like nothing had happened. Despicable.
"Daichi sweetie!" she squealed as he approached. "I was looking for you earlier, did you get my messages?" she asked innocently leaning over the table to expose her bare chest.
"You think this is funny?" he asked, his voice low and angry.
"Do I think what is funny?" she asked, confused. Yamabe sat just across from Mitsui. She was probably there as well and helped harm Temari. Daichi slammed Temari's sketchbook onto the table causing everyone in the cafeteria to fall silent.
"I asked if you think this is funny?" he demanded, pointing to the book.
"What this pathetic piece of trash? No, it's disgusting and belongs in the garbage." she responded by poking at the book. "Yamabe take out the trash,"
The two laughed and Yamabe reached for the book.
"Don't you dare touch it!" Daichi exclaimed, his eyes glaring at Yamabe. She looked confused from Daichi to Mitsui.
"Baby why are you getting so worked up over a stupid book?" Mitsui asked, standing up facing him.
"Because it's not just some stupid book." Daichi said. "Stop calling me names, I'm not your boyfriend I don't belong to you so stop acting like it."
"Wh-what are you talking about?" Mitsui's lip began to quiver. "You're causing a scene, let's talk about this later."
"Why? You didn't care about causing a scene with Temari." Daichi said coldly.
"Who the hell is Temari?" Mitsui asked, confused.
"The girl's life you just destroyed." Kinjo spoke up from behind Daichi.
Mitsui scoffed. "Please if I ruined that girl's life then she obviously has more important things to worry about."
"How dare you!" Kinjo yelled lunging at Mitsui, however Daichi stopped her by holding up his hand. Silence followed as he turned back to Mitsui glaring into her eyes.
"You are the worst kind of person there is Mitsui," Daichi said. As the words left his mouth, she trembled terrified to hear what he had to say. "You're fake, rude, and annoying. You're a bully and the only person you care about is yourself." He said.
"Daichi, why are you saying this?" She asked, crocodile tears forming in her eyes.
"Because you hurt someone I care about!" he boomed, his voice was deep and firm. "I'm going to let you in on a little secret, Mitsui, we are NOT a couple. We never have been and we never will be. And if I ever catch you near me or Temari again I won't be so nice next time!" His voice echoing through the cafeteria. He knew all eyes were on him. He had to make it clear to everyone not to mess with Temari.
Daichi grabbed the sketchbook off the table and walked out of the cafeteria leaving all eyes on Mitsui.
~
"Tell me when it starts to hurt." Hotaru said, his warm fingers gently prodded Temari's hand.
"Ow!" she tried to breathe as the pain shot up her arm.
Hotaru softly laid her hand back down in her lap and walked over to the computer towards the corner of the room. His tall stature definitely made a statement in the room.
"Is it broken?" Miwa asked nervously.
"I'm afraid so," Hotaru said sitting down on a rolling cushioned stool. "The x-rays will confirm it, but given the position it's sitting in, the amount of pain she's in, and the significant bruising and swelling it's most definitely broken."
Temari slumped over on the hospital bed. How was she supposed to draw with a broken hand?
"Okay," Miwa nodded, trying to hold back whatever emotion she was feeling. Temari could tell it by the way she held her breath in.
"The good news is however, that it's just one bone. In the area of the break it's very common for there to be multiple fractures across the hand. But in your case it just seems like there's only one fracture." Hotaru said.
The room was silent. Temari didn't understand how this was good news. A broken hand is a broken hand.
"So what happens next?" Miwa asked, finally breaking the silence.
"Well once the x-rays come back and I take a look at them, we can find exactly where the break is. Then we can put her in a cast and send you guys home." Hotaru said.
"Will I be able to move my fingers with a cast on?" Temari asked without looking up at either adult.
"Yes, once the cast is put on you'll have full range movement of your fingers, though I will warn you moving them might be quite painful for a few weeks, maybe a month."
"A month!?" Temari exclaimed looking up, tears started filling her eyes. She wouldn't be able to draw for a whole month?! That's like saying she couldn't breathe! Or eat or drink! What if she got rusty? Would she have to drop out of the art exhibition?
"Calm down Temari, I'm sure it won't be that long," Miwa said, putting her hands on her younger sister's shoulders. "You're a fast healer, and can handle a lot of pain. You'll be back to drawing before you know it."
Temari knew Miwa meant to be comforting but words meant nothing to Temari in this moment. All she could think about was the art exhibition. She should've known not to get her hopes up about her art. Who was she kidding thinking she'd actually get to be a featured artist.
"You want to talk outside?" Hotaru asked Miwa quietly. Miwa nodded and the two left the room.
The silence welcomed Temari. She tried everything she could to not start crying again. Just as the walls began to close in again, a buzz from her pocket distracted her. Temari took her phone out of her pocket to see a text from Daichi.
Daichi: Can I please see you?
Temari locked her phone and put it back into her pocket. Seeing Daichi was the last thing she wanted to do right now. Maybe it wasn't his fault that Mitsui did what she did. But she still couldn't shake Mitsui's words. What if Mitsui saw them again? What would she do this time?
A couple minutes passed by before Miwa returned to the room without Hotaru. Neither one of them said anything. Miwa didn't exactly want to talk about Hotaru and neither did Temari. Nor did either one of them want to talk about Temari's hand. About half an hour passed before Hotaru returned with the x-rays. Then two more hours before she was walking out with her arm in a sling.
"Thanks again," Miwa spoke.
"Of course," Hotaru smiled leaning down to deliver a soft kiss to Miwa.
"Ek! Gross," Tobio grumbled.
"Why'd you look?" Temari smarted off.
"What?!" Tobio turned to her disgusted.
"You didn't have to look," Temari repeated.
"Whatever," Tobio said as the two began walking out of the hospital. It was dark outside already and the weight of the day was weighing heavy on Temari's shoulders. She desperately wanted to crawl in bed and forget about everything. The stars seemed dull tonight as if the darkness around them was becoming too much to bear. The ride home was silent. Not the uncomfortable silence, but the calm silence. This pleased Temari, she didn't have the energy for any more human interaction. After Miwa pulled into the driveway, the three rolled out of the car utterly exhausted. They all dragged their feet to the front porch then piled inside.
"So…?" Their grandfather asked, waiting in the living room.
"It's broken," Miwa said. "X-rays confirmed it. She goes back in two weeks to get a hard cast put on it."
"I see," Their grandfather nodded. "And how are you feeling Temari?"
"It hurts," was all she said.
"Well go get some rest." Their grandfather spoke.
"I'll bring you an ice pack in a minute." Miwa said and Temari nodded. Temari turned and trudged up the stairs followed by Tobio.
"Hey if you need anything just text me. I'll get you water or aspirin or whatever you need." Tobio said as she was about to slide open her bedroom door.
"Thanks," Temari nodded, then entered her room, closing the door behind her. She walked over to her dresser carefully changing into her pajamas. When she finished she laid on her warm bed and curled up under the blankets. Miwa came in not long after to give Temari an ice pack. Temari didn't sleep a wink that night. Even with the ice pack the pain itself was almost too much to bear. By the time morning came, Temari was convinced she had only slept an accumulative of 3 hours. Before she knew it, it was time to shower and get ready for school. Temari had to use a plastic bag to cover her arm which was uncomfortable and awkward, nevermind the throbbing and stinging pain still shooting through her hand.
"Can't I just stay home?" Temari whined while playing at the pancakes on the plate in front of her.
"No, I have to work all weekend and grandpa is going to that retreat with his bingo group remember?" Miwa said.
"So? I can stay home by myself…" Temari grumbled.
"Sorry, Kiddo, it's not going to happen." Miwa said, flipping another pancake.
"Are you packed?" Tobio asked, bursting into the room. Temari nodded at the duffle bag sitting on the counter.
"You guys better have fun," Miwa said, turning back to the stove.
"I'm there to work hard and not have fun." Tobio said, grabbing an apple from a bowl on the counter as he set his bag with hers.
"You can have fun and work hard at the same time." Miwa responded. Tobio jumped up and sat on the counter. After school today they were leaving for training camp. Up north there was the Miyagi prefecture training camp that Karasuno was going to and at the end of the training camp they were going to go against Nekoma High which is supposed to be Karasuno high's rival. This training camp was supposed to kick off summer break and also prepare for the inter-high tournament coming up.
"Here," Miwa said, handing Tobio a plate of pancakes. "Temari, I'm going to put the pain prescription from the hospital in your bag."
"No thanks," Temari said, a mouthful of pancakes. No matter how much it hurt, Temari hated taking pills.
"Well, just in case you need it, it's there." Miwa said, stuffing the medium sized pill bottle into her duffle back. "Alright let's get you two to school." She said rubbing her belly which had begun to swell. Temari grabbed her backpack only putting it on her left shoulder while Tobio grabbed his backpack and both of their bags. Miwa drove them to school.
"I'll put these in the club room for now," Tobio said and Temari nodded then walked to her locker. As she did she could hear snickers and whispers, she saw the stares and fingers pointed at her. She tried not to give them attention. She tried not to break. She walked to her locker, head hung low avoiding everyone else's stares. She opened her locker and struggled to put her unnecessary books away while grabbing the ones she needed. With a huff she finally slammed her locker shut. As she did, Kinjo's colorful face came into view, her perfectly done eyebrows knit together in concern.
"Temari!" she cried out throwing her arms around Temari's shoulders.
"Ow ow ow!" Temari cried as Kinjos's chest crushed her hand.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" Kinjo jumped back hugging her hands to her chest.
"It's okay," Temari held up her own hands trying to comfort Kinjo. "It's just still really painful."
"Other than that how are you feeling?" Kinjo asked, grabbing Temari's books from her hands.
"Well other than the stabbing pain in my hand and my bruised ego, I'm fine." Temari said.
"So it's for sure broken?" Kinjo asked and Temari nodded.
"We got it x-rayed last night, I have to wear this soft cast for a week and then I go back to get a hard cast put on." Temari said.
"I can't believe that bitch," Kinjo muttered. "Did Miwa totally blow up?"
Temari nodded. "She wanted to call the school and everything."
"She should!" Kinjo said. "Get that bitch suspended!"
"Maybe," Temari trailed off.
"You should," Kimjo said. "She needs to learn not to mess with you."
Temari sighed. "I don't want to bring more attention to myself than I already have."
"Someone other than Daichi has to teach her a lesson." Kinjo muttered.
"Other than Daichi?" Temari eyed her curiously.
"So you two havent talked?" Kinjo asked.
"No," Temari said, wanting to shrink away from the conversation.
"He made it very clear in front of the entire student body that she had to stay away from you two." Kinjo said not wanting to look Temari in the eyes. "He cares about you Temari, he was wrecked when he heard what happened."
Daichi did that for her? But why? Did he care about her the way she cared about him? Or were they just friends?
"I thought that she might be his girlfriend," Temari said shyly.
"Mitsui is a floozy and a ball bunny, she tries to get his attention because he's captain and has influence. But he doesn't even like her like that. Daichi just never had a reason to turn her down… until you…"
"Me?" Temari asked curiously.
"Yeah, you," Kinjo chuckled. "Temari, you need to give yourself some credit. You have what a lot of girls would kill over and Daichi see's that."
"What do you mean?" Temari asked, confused.
"You're effortlessly beautiful on the inside and the outside. Own it." Kinjo said then turned and began walking down the hall. Temari followed, confused, as they walked down the hall. As they did, the room to the teachers lounge swung open right in front of the two.
"Thank you Mrs. Kaminari," Daichi's voice sounded in front of them.
"Of course, Daichi, now get to class." Mrs. Kaminari's voice sounded through the open door as Daichi walked out, almost bumping into Kinjo and Temari.
"Speak of the devil," Kinjo muttered. "Hey cuz,"
"Hey," Daichi put on a smile though it faded quickly when his eyes landed on Temari. At first his eyes were wide and smile was warm, then as his eyes drifted down to the sling on her shoulder she noticed the dark circles and his face turned dreary. The three stood there in silence. Temari threw her eyes down to the floor afraid to look at him in case Mitsui was lurking somewhere nearby. Daichi didn't say anything either. Why didn't he say anything? If Kinjo was right then why didn't he say anything to her?
"Well, we should get going." Kinjo said, trying to break the silence Daichi stepped aside so the two could continue down the hall.
"Wait," Daichi blurted, reaching his hand out to Temari though he stopped just before she could grab her arm. Temari turned to face him curiously. He reached into his backpack pulling out a large rectangular package then handed it to Temari. "This is, uh, this is for you,"
Temari looked at it curiously then took it from him. The medium weighted object was covered in a dark blue wrapping paper as dark as the night sky. Stars decorated the paper, some of which were connected by lines to form constellations. Tied around the paper was a thin white ribbon. What was it? Had Daichi gotten this for her?
"You don't have to, uh, open it now. You can open it, you know, whenever," Daichi said.
"Thanks," Temari nodded, still not looking up at him. She knew if she looked into his comforting brown eyes then she wouldn't be able to hold back her emotions. Daichi shot his eyes towards his cousin and nodded. Then turned and left. As his footsteps faded, Temari allowed her head to rise and watch him walk down the hallway, hands in his jacket pockets and head hung low. Her cheeks warmed as she looked back down at the gift in her hand.
"Well that was awkward." Kinjo said, startling Temari who had almost forgotten she was standing there.
Temari didn't respond. Instead she stuck the present into her backpack and walked down the hall to class. Temari was dreading this moment the most. She knew all eyes would be on her and when they rounded the corner, her suspicions were correct. The whole room quieted then filled with whispers as eyes and fingers were glued to her. Fear ran through her body and it took everything in her to not turn and run out of the room.
"Hey, what are you looking at?!" Kinjo exclaimed. Kids in the seats closest to her shrunk away in fear. "You got a problem?" she pointed to more students. "You wanna say something?!" Everyone in the room turned away from Kinjo who was giving them all the death glare. "Yeah that's what I thought! Bunch of pansies," Kinjo scoffed and walked to her seat. Temari shyly followed. The day was long and hard. Temari couldn't write so Kinjo volunteered to take notes for both of them.Even art, her favorite subject, felt like more of a burden. Though that was mostly because she had to tell Mrs. Kaminari that she couldn't participate in the art exhibition.
"I heard something had happened with one of my students," Mrs. Kaminari said in a soft tone. Class had ended and the students had been dismissed. "It's unfortunate what happened. You don't have any old pieces you'd like to exhibit?"
"Everything I had was in my sketchbook," Temari answered.
Mrs. Kaminari sighed "I'm sorry you're going through this Temari." Mrs. Kaminari's voice was genuine when she said it and it was hard for Temari to choke back the tears. "How about I hold a spot for you just in case you can whip something up."
"No," Temari shook her head. "It wouldn't be fair to everyone else. Anything I create wouldn't be my best."
"Then why don't you come as a guest," Mrs. Kaminari said, handing Temari a flyer. "So you can't participate this year… come get a feel for it and start planning for next year."
Temari let a smile cross her lips. "Thank you," She took the flyer and walked out of the room. When school was out, Kinjo grabbed Temari's books and the two walked to their lockers.
"So what are your plans for summer break?" Kinjo asked.
"Volleyball," Temari answered. "Training camp starts tomorrow and I still have a lot to learn."
"I can't believe you're taking over as team manager." Kinjo said. "I might actually have to go to some of the games now."
"You should! The team is pretty good, we just had a practice match against Aoba Johsai and won." Temari answered.
"That's what Daichi said. He said it was an interesting game." She responded.
"Why'd he say that?" Temari asked curiously.
"He said that some of the players in our team had some bad blood between players from there." He must've been talking about Tobio.
When they got to their lockers Kinjo helped Temari pull out her books. She offered to walk Temari to the club room, however Tobio showed up and grabbed Temari's books from Kinjo.
"Well I guess you're in good hands." Kinjo said, nodding to Tobio. "Call me and we'll hang out over break, you can come swimming in our pool." Kinjo told Temari excitedly.
"I will," Temari giggles. "I'll see you later,"
Kinjo waved, then walked further down the hall.
"Are you ready?" she asked Tobio.
"Absolutely," Tobio responded. "Are you ready to take over as team manager?"
"You heard about that?" she asked shyly as they walked down the hall.
"Yeah, Kiyoko told Daichi and Tanaka over heard." Tobio said.
"So everyone knows by now?" she asked reluctantly.
"Yeah, pretty much," Tobio responded in a matter of fact tone.
"Great," she sighed.
"Don't worry about it," Tobio said. "Everyone's pretty excited."
"Really?" Temari asked, shocked.
"Yeah," Tobio chuckled. "Everyone on the team loves you."
Temari let a smile cross her lips. This definitely wasn't Kitagawa First.
"Hey guys," she heard Hinata's voice to the left of them.
"What do you want?" Tobio responded.
"Hey Hinata," Temari waved with her good hand.
"I heard about what happened, are you okay?" Hinata asked, standing in front of Temari blocking her path. She knew he meant well, however she couldn't help the embarrassed blush plaguing her cheeks.
"Why would you ask her that dumbass? Obviously she's okay." Tobio remarked.
"Really, I'm fine. Thanks for asking." Temari tried to fake a smile.
"But your arm is in a sling!" Hinata exclaimed.
"It's for elevation," Temari answered. "The doctor said I have to keep it elevated to help with the pain and swelling."
"Ohh," Hinata said.
"Dumbass," Tobio scoffed.
"Will you stop calling me that?!" Hinata exclaimed. Temari couldn't help but be somewhat amused by their arguing.
"Temari!" Noya's voice yelled. "Oh gorgeous goddess, to what do I owe the pleasure of seeing your beautiful face." Noya smiled, grabbing Temari's hand and pressing it to his lips. Temari stared in shock of what was going on.
"That's my sister asshole!" Tobio exclaimed, swatting Nishinoya's hand away from Temari's.
"Hey respect your upperclassman!" Nishinoya exclaimed, standing up glaring at Tobio.
"Respect my sister," Tobio bellowed, towering over him.
"Noya! Kageyama! Knock it off!" Daichi's voice boomed. Almost feeling as if she were in trouble, she looked around scared to meet his gaze. Finally her eyes rested on his atop the stairs by the club room. His brow was knit with frustration, eyes red and dark with circles. Why hadn't he been sleeping? "Get in the club room now!" He then turned and disappeared in the club room.
"Geez, what's got the captain so upset?" Hinata grumbled as the three made their way up the stairs.
"I don't know but it's going to be a long training camp if he's going to be like this." Nishinoya replied.
What did Nishinoya mean by that? Temari wandered to herself. Was Daichi in a bad mood because of her? Was he not sleeping because of her? Temari's mind wandered as she turned to walk towards the bus. As she did however she bumped into a tall sturdy object.
"Ow!" she cried out, grabbing her broken hand, a stinging pain shooting up through her wrist.
"Ah! I'm so sorry!" a rough burly voice answered. She took a few steps back to see Asahi, a giant looking man with scruff on his chin and a man bun on his head.
"No it's okay I wasn't watching where I was going." She responded.
"No I wasn't paying attention, please accept my sincerest apologies!" he exclaimed, bowing to her.
Why was he being so dramatic?
"No, it's okay, it's my fault." Temari spoke again. Asahi stood up straight.
"I didn't hurt you did I?" his gaze was down and to the side not meeting hers.
"No, you didn't... my hand just... aches sometimes..." she said.
"Ah! I didn't even see that your arm was broken! I can't believe I ran into a disabled person!" he exclaimed.
"Hey I'm not disabled!" she argued.
"No no that's not what I meant!" he held up his hands, his eyes wide. Then he dipped down in a bow. "Please, I am really sorry miss!"
"It's okay," she said, holding up her hand.
"What is your name?" he asked. "You are the new team manager, yes?"
"Well, I'm training to be," Temari answered. "I'm Temari."
"Asahi," he answered and held out his hand. Temari took it. It was surprisingly soft. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Yeah, you too," Temar smiled then dropped her hand.
"I must go before I am late," he stood up and nodded to her then ran up the stairs. She was surprised at how fragile he seemed.
"Temari!" Kiyoko called out to her.
"Hey Kiyoko!" Temari smiled.
"How's your arm doing?" Kiyoko asked, approaching her.
"It hurts like hell," Temari responded and Kiyoko let out a laugh.
"I remember that feeling. when I was a kid I broke my leg once. The cast was the itchiest thing ever. I just wanted it off." Kiyoko smiled.
"I hate it." Temari said. "Thankfully this one I'll only have for a week, then I get the hard cast."
"Well, it'll be difficult but not impossible." Kiyoko said. "Want to see the new uniforms?"
"They came in already?" Temari asked, surprised.
Kiyoko nodded. Temari followed Kiyoko to the bus. The storage units under the bus were open for the guys to put their stuff in. However a large bin was already sitting in one of the slots. Kiyoko reached in and grabbed the bin, pulling it towards them. She opened the lid and pulled out the first jersey, its slick black fabric felt smooth against her touch. It had an orange collar and "ics" printed on the left chest. In the front and center was a large number one. She wondered whose jersey this must be. Its under armour fabric felt smooth and breathable, though it smelt like plastic wrap.
"These look awesome!" Temari exclaimed.
Kiyoko giggled. "Just wait till the guys see them."
"Hinata's gonna freak." Temari said.
"You're absolutely right," Kiyoko agreed. "Anyway, You can ride with me to the training camp. I think the guys were going to have a meeting and maybe practice a bit before they headed up. That way we can get dinner ready for them and clean the jerseys so they can wear them for the practice match." Kiyoko said. "Do you have your stuff?"
"Tobio has it in the club room. Let me just go grab it," Temari said. Kiyoko nodded and Temari turned and ran towards the club room. She sprinted up the steps and without thinking threw open the door. When she did she was met with the naked chest of almost every single player, along with quite a few shocked faces.
"Well if you wanted to see me naked you could've just asked." Tanaka smarted off, she looked to see him standing shirtless right next to none other than Daichi himself in nothing but a pair of boxers. She couldn't help but let her eyes travel down the hard muscles of his back to the tight boxers covering his perfectly shaped ass. She knew he was strong, but seeing the way his back muscles knit together under his skin made her knees weaken in a way she didn't know was possible. As he turned to face her, she could see his tight chest and firm abdominal muscles that lead to a v line cut in his waist. Without thinking she let her eyes wander to the bulge clearly accented by his black boxers as her mouth went dry.
"Temari what the hell?!" Tobio exclaimed, snapping her eyes away from Daichi's body up to his tired eyes which were now wide and hiding a beat red blush on his cheeks. Tobio rushed to block his sister's vision as he pulled on a pair of shoes. Her good hand shot up to her eyes covering them as a red hot fire engulfed her throat and cheeks. Tobio grabbed her shoulder, pushing Temari out of the room and shut the door behind them. "What are you doing up here?!"
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to!" She exclaimed. "I thought you guys were having a meeting. I didn't know you were all changing!" The fire in her cheeks burned with rage. It wasn't the first time she had seen a guy shirtless, hell Tobio walked around the house shirtless all the time. But this was Daichi... Why did just a glance make her feel so... weak...?
"What are you even doing up here?!" he exclaimed angrily.
"I'm going to head to the camp with Kiyoko so we can start making dinner for you guys, I just came to grab my bag." she said, her eyes on the floor.
"You could've just called me, I would've brought it to you." Tobio grumbled.
"I thought you guys were having a meeting!" She exclaimed, finally looking at him.
He took in her flustered face and sighed a heavy sigh. He turned back to the door and opened it only wide enough for him to pass through. She leaned against the railing head in her hands refusing to face anyone. When Tobio appeared back outside the door he had a t-shirt on and her duffle bag over his shoulder. "I'll walk it there for you."
"You don't have to do that." she said.
"I'm not going to make you carry this with your hand like that." he stopped the argument and she nodded. The two walked back down the stairs and to Kiyoko's car where she was waiting. Kiyoko popped the trunk and took the duffle bag from Tobio, placing it in her car amongst boxes of food.
"Text me when you guys get there." Tobio said sternly and Temari nodded, the burning sensation in her face finally going away.
After that he turned and walked away.
"Temari Why is your face so red?" Kiyoko asked.
Temari shook her head. "Because I'm an idiot,"
