Chapter 676 - Unexpected Reversal (Part 1)

The video began, and the audience immediately recognized the scene from when the incident occurred. They had seen those backgrounds too many times, including the music playing, the celebrities around, and Robert Downey Jr. sitting in the corner, drinking beer and listening to music alone...

Because everything inside was so familiar, everyone immediately knew it was real footage, not post-production. The only difference was the angle compared to the initially released surveillance video.

Due to the different angle, the audience in front of the TV could clearly see Cole dropping a small white pill into the girl's drink. The pill almost instantly dissolved upon contact with the liquid, creating a stream of bubbles before disappearing into the glass. However, the girl beside him remained completely unaware of the danger she was facing.

Just as the girl, prompted by Cole, was about to pick up the glass to take a sip, Downey rushed over from behind and knocked the glass over.

Countless people who witnessed this scene couldn't help but exclaim, "Good!" What is a hero? This is it!

He saved that lovely girl, protecting her from harm!

Now the truth was finally revealed. It turned out that Cole did drug the drink, and Downey did indeed do a good deed. Even those who had been saying he shouldn't resort to violence had to shut their mouths. From this video, it was clear that he was not the one to initiate violence.

Half an hour quickly passed, and after discussing the case for a while, the host concluded the program. Only in the final moments did he remind the audience that if they wanted to know more about "minors," they should stay tuned to the channel. Don't miss it tomorrow night at the same time!

Downey was dumbfounded: "You said we would know immediately, didn't you?" He had taken off his pants, only to be shown this?

Laila smiled at him, squinting her eyes: "Isn't it that you already know the truth? Indeed, Cole drugged the drink, and you did a good deed."

Downey rolled his eyes at the ceiling: "Come on, you know what I want to know!"

"Don't worry, you'll know tomorrow."

"You just said we would know in a moment!" Downey protested, waving his arms. "BOSS, you're going to lose me like this, you know?"

"Will I?" Laila raised an eyebrow.

Will she? Of course not! Downey felt like a deflated balloon and dejectedly got up to return to his room.

Roy chuckled, watching Laila, who looked like a fox, "You're teasing him like this; he'll be heartbroken when he finds out."

"It's okay, he'll get used to it." Laila rested her head on his lap, comfortably switching to a channel playing a soap opera.

Roy smoothed her hair, watching the black satin-like strands flow through his fingertips, feeling something warm flowing in his heart, filling his entire being.

"Why not reveal everything at once?" he asked curiously.

Laila smiled mysteriously, "I need a little time to let things simmer."

Roy nodded understandingly. He could sense that she was waiting for something, but he had no idea what it was.

"Am I useless?" he suddenly asked.

"Huh?" Laila was puzzled by his sudden and random question. "What's wrong? Why are you suddenly talking about this?"

"Downey got into trouble, and I can't help at all. Now..." He didn't understand what she was saying and felt emotionally hurt. "You know, should I go back to school?"

Laila couldn't quite grasp his train of thought, suddenly jumping from Downey's situation to going back to school. "If you want to go to school, that's fine. Learning something new is always useful. It also allows you to experience more in life."

Back in the day, she was a top student in school because of her love for movies. She absorbed everything related to films, not just what was taught in school. She devoted herself to learning anything related to movies.

After her rebirth, her interest in learning diminished significantly. When Janet wanted her to go to school, hoping she'd experience the normal student life, she firmly refused. She had already learned everything before, and she believed the things she encountered in her present life were more advanced than what the current education system could offer.

Roy was different. Due to his family situation, he was sent to an orphanage at a young age. He attended school for a while during that time. Later, in search of his brother Abel, he escaped from the orphanage and never went back to school.

Laila had arranged tutors to teach him etiquette, acting, martial arts, and other skills necessary for an actor. While she didn't force him to attend regular school, she would wholeheartedly support him if he wanted to.

Even for an actor, without a certain life experience, it would be challenging to portray certain roles authentically. If he had to play a college student but had never been to college himself, could he do it convincingly?

Not to mention acting in movies, even in daily life, accumulating various experiences is a form of evolution in itself. Learning more things naturally broadens one's horizons, and it benefits anyone.

Anyway, he doesn't need an academic degree. If he learns things he likes, what could she object to? Roy was just speaking casually, feeling that he had too little influence in front of her, which hurt his self-esteem. Who asked him to have such an amazing girlfriend? Constantly being struck down and constantly having to repair himself, he had become accustomed to the blows.

But looking at her, it seemed like she genuinely supported him in learning.

This made him feel like he was lifting a stone to smash his foot.

As for learning, he didn't dislike it. The time he spent in the welfare home back then, aside from beating up a few people who looked down on him, was quite enjoyable. He had been good-looking since childhood, well-liked by teachers and female classmates, and with good physical fitness, he also received many admiring glances during sports.

However, given his current identity, if he were to go to school... even using his knee, he could guess what kind of situation it would turn into. He could guarantee that the classroom would be livelier than a vegetable market. In that kind of environment, could he really focus on learning?

But Laila's enthusiastic appearance made him feel that if he backed out now, it would definitely disappoint her, and he was the last person who wanted to see her like that. So, even if it was just to make her happy, let's go to school! Many celebrities also excel in their studies; if others can do it, why can't he?

After realizing this, the two began to think about what they wanted to study, unaware that the internet was on the verge of exploding due to the recent program.
