Chapter 925 - On the Red Carpet (Part 2)

The discovery of the ring quickly spread, and reporters hurriedly sent the photos back, eager to be the first to publish the story. Meanwhile, fans were equally curious about the ring, wanting a closer look at just how large and dazzling it was.

If one or two people shouted in such a lively atmosphere, Laila might not have heard them. But when hundreds or even thousands of fans chanted "Ring!" in unison, how could she possibly miss it?

"It seems everyone is curious about the ring," Roy whispered in her ear with a smile.

Laila chuckled softly, then raised her hand in response to the fans' chants, showing off the ring.

"Wow!"

The fans were thrilled that Laila showed them the ring. They shouted her name excitedly while straining their eyes to get a better look at the diamond.

"It's huge!" "So shiny!" "Is that a blue diamond?"

The fans buzzed with excitement, but the reporters were growing impatient.

What was the point of showing it only to the fans? They wanted a glimpse too!

Unfortunately, they were stationed on the opposite side of the red carpet. When Laila showed the ring to the fans, the reporters were left staring at her back. And while a backshot might have been interesting if she were wearing a revealing dress, Laila's elegant outfit only exposed half a shoulder, leaving little to capture the reporters' interest.

"Ring! Ring!"

Frustrated, the reporters began mimicking the fans' chants, hoping Laila would turn around and graciously show them the ring as well.

Laila couldn't help but laugh at the reporters' antics, and even the fans joined in the laughter. When had reporters ever resorted to copying fans' tactics to get closer to a celebrity?

But it worked. Taking pity on the hardworking reporters, Laila turned around and held her hand up to her chest, revealing the ring to them.

Instantly, camera flashes erupted again, the blinding silver light almost making one wonder if it could damage their eyes.

Zooming in on the photos they had taken, the reporters finally got a clear look at the ring. It was indeed a massive diamond, easily over 7 carats by their estimation, and a rare ice-blue color at that!

Of course, they couldn't linger on the red carpet for too long. After waving to the fans, Laila and Roy quickly made their way toward the venue. Staying any longer would have been inconsiderate, as their presence would have overshadowed whoever came after them.

But even as they picked up their pace, the red-carpet host managed to catch them.

"Don't even think about running away! I just heard something very interesting. Would you mind sharing it with me and our viewers at home?"

The host had already been informed by the live broadcast team about the fans and reporters clamoring to see Laila's ring. This was explosive news, a surefire way to boost ratings, and there was no way they were letting Laila and Roy slip away without addressing it.

Laila and Roy exchanged a smile and obligingly stopped. This was a live broadcast, and they had to play along. Besides, even if they avoided it now, they'd be hounded for answers after the ceremony. It was better to get it over with.

"Everyone's so enthusiastic," Roy replied.

The host wasn't interested in such a polite response. He glanced at Laila's hand and asked with a smile, "I heard Laila is wearing a rather large diamond ring today. Would you mind showing it to our viewers at home?"

Though Laila felt showing off the ring might come across as boastful, she obligingly raised her hand, displaying it to the camera.

The blue diamond was stunning, its unique charm sparkling under the lights.

Why were diamonds so beloved? Precisely because of their beauty and rarity.

Even those who knew nothing about diamonds couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of her ring—not just the diamond itself, but also the value it represented.

As people watched, they couldn't help but wonder: How much would such a rare blue diamond cost?

The host, as if reading their minds, asked with a smile, "This is such a beautiful treasure. Can you tell us how many Beverly Hills mansions it could buy?"

He directed the question to Roy, assuming he was the one who had gifted the ring to Laila. Naturally, Roy would be the one to know its exact value.

And indeed, the host's assumption was correct. Laila had no idea how much the ring cost and hadn't even thought to ask.

Roy glanced at Laila. "Its original value doesn't matter. Once it's on Laila's finger, it becomes priceless."

"Wow—" The crowd, especially the women, erupted in screams. Fans on the scene were ecstatic, and even those watching at home had to cover their ears from the sheer volume of excitement.

Roy's words were simply too dreamy. In his eyes, the diamond's value came solely from being worn by Laila. It was the kind of romantic line that made every girl swoon. If someone said that to them, they'd give up everything to be with that person!

The host, caught off guard by this unexpected dose of sweetness, was momentarily speechless.

No wonder this guy managed to win over the Moran heiress. Even as a straight man, the host found himself a little overwhelmed by Roy's charm.

"Alright, you two are so happy it's almost enviable. Now that you've changed the ring, does that mean the wedding is on the agenda?" He winked suggestively at the couple.

Roy wanted to nod, but since Laila hadn't agreed, he couldn't use the media to pressure her into marriage. Instead, he offered a mysterious smile.

Why mysterious?

Actually, it was more of a bitter smile, but for some reason, everyone interpreted it as enigmatic.

Though, to be fair, he probably preferred it that way.

Seeing that Roy wasn't going to elaborate, the host turned his attention to Laila. "Laila, you brought us the classic 'The Lord of the Rings', which has earned eleven nominations. How many do you think you'll take home?"

Laila smiled. "If possible, I'd like to win them all."

She was being honest, but the host took it as a joke. "Haha, if you take them all, the other films might be heartbroken. After the nominations were announced, many people have been discussing your chances of winning Best Director. Can you tell us how confident you are?"

"50%," Laila replied after a brief pause.
