Outside the Mystical Village Tower, over a hundred warrior monks were patrolling non-stop. Since the Mystical Village Tower was a restricted area in the Shaolin temple, there were almost 108 warrior monks who guarded, whether it was day or night.
Those warrior monks could have grouped to form a large formation in an instant. The formation was strong enough to have trapped a typical martial artist of the Upper Realms for a short time.
"Brother, I have this strange feeling that there's something odd about the Mystical Village Tower tonight…" whispered a young warrior monk as he turned back to look at the Mystical Village Tower that shrouded in darkness.
"Odd? What on earth's odd about it?" The other warrior monk glared at him and told him off, "Focus! Don't get distracted."
"Ok, I will," said the young warrior monk as he shrunk back
Out of a sudden, a buzzing sound was heard.
Buzz!
The Mystical Village Tower slightly shook. All the 108 warrior monks stationed outside the Mystical Village Tower were startled. They then turned to look at the tower.
"What just happened?"
"I think I just felt the Mystical Village Tower tremble slightly..."
"That's right. I felt it too! I thought I was just imagining it!"
...
All the warrior monks were anxious and full of doubt. The next moment…
Creak!
The main entrance to the Mystical Village Tower opened by a tiny fraction to reveal a slit. A pitch-black shadow instantly slipped out through this slit to stand outside the tower.
"I'm out! I'm finally out!" shouted the Blood-Sucking Devil gleefully.
In reality, before he decided to enter the Mystical Village Tower, the Blood-Sucking Devil hesitated whether or not he should have taken the risk. He could not have been too sure whether or not the information in the ancient manual was true without testing it himself.
After all, it was the Mystical Village Tower of the Shaolin temple. It imprisoned countless powerful and mighty demons. None of those powerful demons managed to escape since they were imprisoned.
Was it because none of them wanted to escape? Not at all. It was because those mighty demons simply had no way to escape. That was how terrifyingly powerful the Mystical Village temple was.
Yet, the ancient manual stated that there was a fault in the formation of the tower…How could there have been a fault just because he wanted it to? Unless everything in that ancient manual was false, the Blood-Sucking Devil decided that he might as well give it a go and take the plunge.
This was why in the end, the Blood-Sucking Devil decided to go ahead with his plan. It was because if he succeeded and managed to consume the Life Essence of all the demons in the tower, he would have had the chance to establish himself as one of the greatest in the world!
How could the Blood-Sucking Devil resist such a temptation? After all, the description and explanations of the fault in the Mystical Village Tower within the ancient manual were extremely detailed. It did not appear to be made up.
"That's bad! A demon has escaped!"
In sharp contrast to the joy of the Blood-Sucking Devil, the group of warrior monks standing guard outside the Mystical Village Tower was startled beyond words. Over the past thousands of years, there was never a precedent where a demon escaped from the Mystical Village Tower.
"Get into formation!" shouted the leader of the warrior monks.
Instantly, all 108 warrior monks suppressed the shock they felt and speedily got into position to form a massive formation, trapping the Blood-Sucking Devil right in the center.
"What a weak formation…I can break this with just a flick of my finger!" laughed the Blood-Sucking Devil in contempt.
Perhaps the formation would have worked before he entered the Mystical Village Tower. However, he was then at the peak of the second-rank. He would have had the advantage to that of a first-rank grandmaster any time. They must have been crazy to think they could trap him in that formation.
Boom! A terrifying evil energy filled the air and spread in all directions to envelop the entire area.
Crash!
The formation created by 108 warrior monks was immediately blown apart. All of them flew and landed harshly on the ground. The monks spat out a mouthful of blood and lost their consciousness.
All of that happened in an instant. From the moment the Mystical Village Tower trembled and led to the escape of the Blood-Sucking Devil to the moment the formation was destroyed. Everything happened in the blink of an eye.
The group of warrior monks barely managed to create the formation before it was destroyed and lives were lost. There was absolutely no time for the news to reach abbot Hui Wen and the other temple heads.
"It only took a blow…"
The Blood-Sucking Devil put down his right hand and beamed with pride as he felt the extent of the immense power that he controlled.
"Huh! So is that all the Shaolin temple has to offer?" The Blood-Sucking Devil laughed coldly.
"I should leave."
The Blood-Sucking Devil scanned the area with his eyes. He did not give the warrior monks time to react before he attacked. Hence, they had no way of informing others of his escape. However, the Shaolin temple was not ignorant.
Since the Mystical Village Tower was a restricted area of the Shaolin temple, someone would have noticed that someone was not right seeing that something major had happened.
If the Blood-Sucking Devil was still there, he had abbot Hui Wen and the other temple court heads ready to attack.
"Hui Wen you old bald donkey!" The Blood Sucking Devil's expression froze.
The only person that he feared in the entire Shaolin temple was abbot Hui Wen. The Blood-Sucking Devil was c in the second-rank and so was abbot Hui Wen.
Even though the Blood-Sucking Devil was at the peak of the second rank, the Shaolin temple's martial arts techniques were specifically tailored to counter the techniques of the Evil Path. On the other hand, it was his bad luck that he was at the domain of the Shaolin temple and he would have fought alone.
If he was delayed, he might have been in grave danger. Even though the Blood-Sucking Devil was confident, he was smart enough to do what was best for him.
"However, before I leave, I just want to have a taste of the Life Essence of this group of Shaolin donkeys…"
The Blood-Sucking Devil licked his lips as he cast an eye upon all the 108 warrior monks that fainted.
In the past, whenever he encountered disciples of a powerful sect like the Shaolin temple, he ran as far as he could from them. How could he have dared to provoke them?
However, his newfound power emboldened the Blood-Sucking Devil. Since he managed to escape the Mystical Village Tower, he put himself on the wanted list of the Shaolin temple. What was the worst that could have happened if he consumed the Life Essence of a couple of the Shaolin temple disciples?
As he thought of that, the Blood-Sucking Devil stepped toward a warrior monk. The warrior monk was previously the lead coordinator of the large formation. He was physically strong and his Qi Vitality was in abundance. He was the Blood-Sucking Devil's favorite type of candidate for consumption.
"Die you demon!" All of a sudden, that warrior monk got up abruptly. His aura rose powerfully and he threw a punch toward the Blood-Sucking Devil.
"That's so weak…"
The Blood Sucking Devil seemed to have expected this. He raised his right hand and slowly pressed it down.
Boom!
A frightening cloud of evil energy closed in and completely suppressed the warrior monk instantly.
"You should've just let me consume you, now wouldn't that be great?" said the Blood-Sucking Devil as he shook his head slightly.
"Demon, I'll fight you till death!" declared the warrior monk and he struggled to stand. His eyes were red.
When the Blood-Sucking Devil saw the sight before him, he was not bothered to respond. Just as he was about to consume all the Life Essence of all the warrior monks there…
...
Countless miles away on top of a hill, Su Qin slowly opened his eyes and sighed softly. In the space between his hands, a condensed ball of Yang energy from the Impenetrable Armor technique continuously collided and spun around a ball of Yin energy condensed from the Yin Refinement technique. It sent out sparks of light that seemed like lightning.
