Chlea's Husband-to-Be?

"What?" Colton lifted his head and innocently asked when he is about to eat the chicken thigh on his hand.

"HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN THERE?! YOU SCARED THE HELL OUT OF US, COLTON!" Hyolyn scowled at his younger brother.

"It hasn't been long yet. You see the mirror almost every day, aren't you more scared of that? Stop overreacting, Hyolyn." Colton replied.

"YOU SON OF A-…" Just as Hyolyn was about to swear Colton out of this world, Chlea has put a chicken drumstick inside her mouth.

"Thank you Chlea noona, you're the best." Colton winked at me from afar and ran as fast as he can before Hyolyn could beat him.

I then hurriedly ushered Hyolyn out of the dining room for us to go to my usual bedroom in this house.

"LET GO OF ME, CHLEY! I HAVE TO BREAK THAT BRAT'S ARMS!" Hyolyn's voice echoed throughout the whole house and makes all the house helpers shiver in fear as usual.

Inside Chlea's designated room is Hyolyn flaming with annoyance towards her younger brother, Colton.

"Colton's being a pain in the ass, Chley! He's messing around this house often these days when he, in fact, is supposed to be busy in Korea. How dare he abuse Uncle Regan's generosity of lending him a private plane so he could fly here anytime he wants." Hyolyn said nonstop.

"Is Colton still studying in Korea? I guess we have not talked that much so I don't know." I asked.

Hyolyn flew herself to the bed.

"Yes, he goes to Seoul National University," Hyolyn said while lying down.

Wow, SNU is a one-hard university to be accepted. All their life, Hyolyn, and her siblings go back and forth from the Philippines to Korea and vice-versa because they are half-Koreans. Perks of dual citizenship.

"Wow, he has always been so intelligent," I said.

"Yes but he messes with me big time! Last time, he sneaked inside my room and took a picture of me without any make-up on. Fearing he will upload it on social media, he struck me a deal." Hyolyn said annoyingly.

"What did he ask for? A car?"

"He wanted me to share this house with him. It's so strange because Dad gave him a lot of properties and condos already while this house is all I have! I treasure this house so much and it seems that he wants this too. I have no other choice but to agree, or else he won't delete it." Hyolyn said as if she is going to cry anytime soon.

Hyolyn and Colton being only a year apart, 19 and 18 respectively, have been known in their respective fields for being the ace. Colton, with his drop-dead perfect looks, wit and knowledge. Hyolyn, who is effortlessly beautiful from head to toe but is insecure with her looks without make-up. But for me, she looks practically the same though, with or without. Their oldest brother Yves is the epitome of manliness and wisdom. Ever since he was young, he has already shown interest in the business industry. Nowadays, he is usually busy because he is about to take over their group of companies because Uncle and Auntie are going to have an early retirement and travel the world. I think it's good for them because they can finally experience the fruits of their labor.

"This house must be important for him too since all of you grew up here. Nobody owns a house like this all over the island, if you are to sell this, the price must be insane!" I said while mentally calculating how much this would cost.

"Absolutely, gramps left this house to Dad as he is the oldest child. My paternal aunts and uncles were so jealous back then." Hyolyn said.

"I would not wonder why, the architecture and everything is just too beautiful," I replied.

"Anyway, since you have been cool with this engagement thing, do you at least know him?" Hyolyn asked as she shifted into an Indian seat.

"No, I have not seen him, even his shadow. And I am not interested to know" I replied, trying not to show the nervousness I have deep within me.

"Aren't you worried? Families are supposed to meet before the engagement, right? Wait… What if they did, but, they excluded you? How dare they!" Hyolyn yelled.

"That's impossible as I am the key person in this union. But if that's the case, they can meet him all by themselves if that is how they want it." I truthfully said.

"Want me to do a little research? I know a really good private investigator. Should I? It won't be hard since I know Uncle Regan would choose the best for you and the best families in our country is enclosed within a small circle." Hyolyn offered.

"We will definitely get to that but not now. I should try to settle things before I proceed to who this guy is." I assured Hyolyn.

"If that's what you want, Unnie. But all of this seems odd to me. Well, let's just see how things go." Hyolyn uttered.

Just as I was about to lay down, we heard a fast knock from the door.

"Come in!" I shouted.

"Miss Chlea, Sir Regan is on the other line right now. He is fuming mad because you are not answering his calls." The house maid nervously said.

I looked at Hyolyn and she mouthed "Take the call." silently. I made my way to take the call and put it on loudspeaker.

"Hey Dad, I'm sorry for not picking up. Turns out I left my phone inside the car. What's up?"

"For goodness' sake, Ingrid! You better get ready, we are going to meet important people at 8 PM tonight." He said as if in hurry.

"Wait, are you in Cebu? But, it's almost 7 PM! Do not underestimate Cebu's traffic, Dad!" I protested.

"I'm on my way to the location now. I'll have you fetched. I'll hang-…"

"Wait, Dad! Who are we meeting? Care to give me just an idea?" I asked.

"Your future husband and his family," Dad replied.

Hyolyn immediately stood up and stared at my eyes wide open.
