Chapter 1

 

"What is this? Why did you lock us in your room? What are you doing?" Hezekiah wondered and seriously looked at him.

 

"This is what you like, right? I know you have feelings for me so you sabotaged my relationship with Liana didn't you?" He walks approaches her and smirks.

 

"No! What are you talking about? I will never do that," she denied any involvement in ruining their relationship. "Are you denying it?" he asked in misbelief.

 

"You're mistaken, sir. I haven't done a thing, and I must emphasize, I don't have any feelings for you." She felt the cold wall against her back, realizing she had no escape. Kiah was cornered by her boss.

 

"You're a liar! Are you that desperate to ruin our relationship? You're so pathetic!"He yelled, and the intensity of his despise was evident in his eyes.

 

"What? am I pathetic? I will never ruin your relationship! You're the one who wrecked my life. After you make love with me you leave me behind hanging." She didn't care if anyone overheard them. She was done concealing her emotions.

 

"You're the one who throws yourself at me," he arrogantly claimed.

 

"You asked me in exchange for my mother's medication and now you are blaming me?" She heavily yelled at him.

 

"You ruined my relationship! Get rid of that baby, " Darius shouted.

 

"You ruined my life too! I'm pregnant, but you want to abort this baby? no way! you are a devil." She shouted emphatically.

 

Darius is mad at her which makes him punch the wall. She thought that he would punch her so she closed her eyes and waited for the punch Darius but she felt relieved when she heard him punch the wall.

 

Hezekiah was terrified when she thought her boss would physically assault her.

 

A loud ringing sound interrupted her sleep and she was relieved to discover it was merely a dream.

 

"What a crazy dream."

 

She gets rid of the unsettling dream in her mind. Hezekiah mutters, " It is just a dream. There's no way that I will. be pregnant by him. I hate that man."

 

The vivid image lingered in her mind. Her relationship with her boss resembled Tom and Jerry—they despised each other as they engaged in constant arguments and fights. She works with Darius for five months. Despite the tension, Hezekiah knew her boss couldn't terminate her contract due to a prior agreement with Darius's father, her original employer, stipulating a three-year commitment.

 

"Someone is calling me so early."she decided to answer it.

 

"Hello, Mom? Good morning. Why did you call this early? It's very early." She sipped her coffee. "Good morning, my pretty daughter. I just wanted to ask if you'll come home to the province tomorrow, it's Sunday, your day off."

 

"I almost forgot, Mom, I'm sorry. I will go home next week or next month if I am not busy. We're so busy these days. Sorry, Mom. I have to go somewhere tomorrow with Sandro."

 

"It's okay dear take your time with your boyfriend. Take care of yourself I am not there to take care of you. Keep safe in driving. I love you and see you soon.

 

"Yes, Mom. I love you more. Send my hi to the twin. I will go to the company now." She smiled and hung up the call. She is now in the city, living alone in her apartment while her family is in the province.

 

"Oh shoot, it's already 7:30 a.m. The monster will scold me if I am late."

 

Kiah immediately drove her car. She arrived at her office at exactly 7:55 a.m. and breathed a sigh of relief because she thought her boss hadn't arrived yet.

 

"I'm so lucky. He isn't here yet." Sitting in her chair, she drank some water. While doing so, she was surprised when the office door of her boss opened, and she was stunned to see him.

 

"You're almost late," he smirked, glancing at his Rolex watch.

 

"Good morning sir," she greeted.

 

"That jerk. I'm not late though, he is just early," she mumbled as she opened her computer.

 

"Are you saying something? You are whispering" he asked, frowning his forehead.

 

"Nothing, sir. I'll be early next time. I'm still not late, though."

 

"Okay. Prepare your things. We will have a meeting with the investor," he said, heading back to his office.

 

"The monster is coming. I'll hurry up. "Hezekiah gathered her belongings for the meeting, She packed the documents into her bag.Darius' office highlighted a transparent glass wall that she noticed her boss leaving.

 

They arrived at the parking lot on their way to see the company's VIP investor. When she was on the elevator Kiah was thinking about his handsome but monster boss. Darius Hidalgo in person was incredibly attractive but he has a terrible attitude. He was approximately six feet tall while Hezekiah was five feet and nine inches tall. She was captivated by his blue eyes which same as hers. He also possessed sharp thick eyelashes and blonde hair that went well with his light skin tone.

 

Hezekiah is shocked and her dream is interrupted when her boss talks with her bringing her back to reality.

 

"What are you staring at? Hurry up," he demanded with his coldness characteristic. This was the familiar tone Darius always used with her.

 

"He's so strict, I wish you stumble " she softly commented, whispering to herself.

 

"What are you whispering over there? Hurry up you're like a turtle." He entered the car.

 

"Have you already prepared the hardcopy of the presentations, Miss Patterson?" her boss asked.

 

Yes, sir, I already have it with me. I would like to inform you that I already responded to their invitation for Mr. Ramada's birthday tomorrow, confirming your attendance," she said glancing at him through the rearview mirror.

 

"That's great and by the way, you'll accompany me tomorrow," he stated while his attention focused on his iPad

 

Kiah wondered and was taken aback. "I'm sorry, but I don't think I should attend. That event is only for affluent individuals."

 

"No, I need you to come with me," he insisted.

 

"But sir. I have plans tomorrow. " She will have a date with her boyfriend. They are busy so they set a schedule for Tomorrow.

 

"No more but I will double your salary tomorrow. You should come with me, period."

 

"No," she responded, rolling her eyes and shifting her focus to the scenery outside. The driver noticed her reaction, but he simply grinned, accustomed to their frequent disagreements.

 

"You will come with me and you will be my date. Mr. Radama expects you to be there." "But, I can't..." She was about to continue but he covered her lips which her shocked.
