19: Marching On

"Now that everyone is safe, we need to go shatter Mario's plan, while the others look for Mr. Phillips." Erik announced when he had brought all angels down.

"Master, I can assign the others to look for him, while the rest of the army follows you," Mick, who was a warrior, spoke.

"Yes, do that while we go. There is no time to waste," Erik paused, counting out twenty angels, "You should take them with you, while I need eleven hundred warriors to plan a surprise attack."

"That's very thoughtful. I would do as you say, Master," Mick said, taking a bow and signalling for the others to follow as they invoked on their journey.

"Nick, your father would be safe. Let's go, troop!" Erik shouted to the others as they all marched back to the battle ground.

When they reached the battle ground, they all stopped to listen the Erik's orders.

"Twenty of you should stay behind to stay with Nick, his mom and sister, while we continue."

"No way, I started this, and I must finish this. I called you guys to assist me, not to take everything into your own hands!" Nick spat, irritation in his voice.

"I don't think that is a good idea, we should stay behind while Erik and his men do their job," Nick's mom said, trying to change Nick's mind.

"No, mom, I must do this. Let's go!" Nick said, as he made his way through the passageway Mario escaped from.

"Let's go!" Erik commanded as all the one thousand and a hundred warriors followed him.

Nick was far ahead, but, they managed to catch up with him.

They marched for over a mile, but, the journey seemed endless.

"Master, there are some beasts killing our soldiers from behind, we have about six hundred men left!" Tereq announced.

"Oh, no. I need to go destroy them," Erik said, as he ran his fastest, back to the others.

After a while, curiosity took over Nick and he decided to follow Erik.

Nick found Erik, slaughtering a ghost with his supernatural sword.

Erik was slaying the demons with ease.

There was a mini battle going on and Nick felt obligation to join, but, he couldn't without the pearl.

A spirit was heading straight at him but Nick swiftly flew up, letting the spirit fall off the cliff.

He was so proud of himself but that didn't last for long as a whole gang of Demon spirits circled him, bringing him nearer to the edge of the cliff.

It felt as though Nick's wings were wet and heavy, preventing him from flying.

Erik was still in battle, so he wasn't conscious on what was going on a few metres away from him.

It was no use looking for help.

Nick felt a cold hand grip his neck and saw that it was the spirit of the first beast he encountered in hell.

It squeezed his neck tighter, making Nick's vision blur.

Oh, no! This shouldn't be happening!

His vision turned white as he received a mighty blow, flinging him off the cliff and into the realm of darkness, as he fell to the bottom of the cliff.
