Chapter 16: An Unexpected Discovery

Kalann wiped sweat from his brow as he plodded along a well-worn road, his companions close behind him. It had been three days since they'd set out from Pailan, and since then they'd left the desert of Aridus far behind. Now they were traveling through Geyron's central plains, a large expanse of grassland and sparse forest that covered much of the continent. Druid's Hollow was about half a day's journey away, but Kalann was becoming exhausted. The monotony of constant trekking across the landscape was getting to him.

"Kalann!" Sparks called. "I think we should take a breather."

Kalann glanced back and saw that his companions were showing signs of fatigue as well. "Alright," he said. "Once we get to a suitable place, we'll make camp."
