Chapter 33: Saved by Lady Gaga

Expecting me to fight to the bitter end, Evil Face Scar Woman was taken by surprise and thrown off balance as I dropped to the ground like a rag doll. Since she still had hold of the chain and the chain still had a hold of my neck, her fall pulled me backwards as well. But once she hit the ground (it was really more of a bounce), slack found its way into the chain and I was able to toss it back over my head with my trapped hand.

Freed, I took a moment to breathe in some sweet, sweet air and my grateful lungs welcomed the life-giving oxygen with open bronchioles. A strongly-accented grunt behind me reminded me that I didn’t have time for a full system reboot, so I scrambled to my feet and ran.
