Chapter 32: Contradictions

Eliza held off Lukas - and her own attraction to him - until the weekend, Friday to be exact. She felt out of control. Alessandro’s offer of being able to *do* something made her giddy when she thought about it. To be able to have a voice, to be able to help people in terms of multinational corporate decisions, this was something she had never dared to dream. Sometimes, she could barely sleep with the excitement bubbling about her head, thinking of the different campaigns she could spearhead in trying to make Monte Salute more sustainable from an ecological perspective, a better place to work as far as labor standards. The company’s whole structure was problematic from top to bottom. But if the ends justified the means, what did that matter?
