Chapter 44: The Mastermind

I was now starting to realize how justified it was for my father to keep me away from the public all these years.

It was to keep me away from people trying to kidnap me, so they could gain favor from the Central Government.

We must have arrived because the vehicle stopped. Penfry dragged me out of the vehicle and then pointed the gun at my back while threatening, “If you run away, I’ll shoot. Now walk!”

He really is a bad person!

I didn’t argue anymore as I walk. I could feel weed getting caught in my dress. The surroundings were also silent.

We must already be away from the city because I couldn’t hear rushing cars or barking dogs anymore.

“Walk up!” Penfry commanded.

I trembled. He really could cut through my bones.

I could feel that I am walking up an elevated structure. I have the feeling that I’ve walked on it before.

“Stop!” Penfry called.

I could smell the familiar scent of a man near me.
