Chapter 49: Hatest Girl in Town
“Why can’t you just pick it up?” My friends and I: Elaine, Christine, and Rose were having a garden party over at Christine’s house.
Her mom got a passion for all kinds of flowers, and it was a tradition to celebrate the end of spring at her place because of that.
We got the whole weekend free, so we decided to come over for coffee and chatter. I am reading a magazine, Christine’s surfing the net on her laptop, and Elaine’s painting her fingernails while Rose’s reading a book.
My phone has been ringing and everyone knows who is calling.
“Why can’t you just pick it up?” Elaine repeated.
“Why can’t you just leave it alone?” I looked up and goes back to reading my magazine. Rose rolls her eyes then goes back to her book.
“Because it’s noisy?”
I sighed and then picked up my phone.
“Fine.” I pushed the “ignore” button hard.
“What?” I tried to act like I did nothing.
“You can’t run away from him forever,” Christine said.
