Chapter 24 The Temptation of Chestnuts

As soon as Meng Ze spoke, he was in such pain that he gasped.

Understanding his good will, Su Tang quickly stopped him, "You'd better not talk. There's no anesthetic here, your wounds must be very painful!"

Meng Ze shook his head, looking like he had something to say, but hesitated.

If he didn't speak, Su Tang simply pretended not to see it.

The water in the clay pot was already boiling. She folded a large green leaf into a cone shape, carefully removed some of the water, and let it cool inside.

After a short silence, Meng Ze spoke again.

"Dr. Su Tang, I'm badly injured. Am I going to meet the Beast God?"

Su Tang didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

"Of course not. As long as you rest well and replenish your nutrients, you'll recover quickly!"

Meng Ze's eyes shimmered. He moistened his cracked, peeling lips and murmured, "Thank you!"

Su Tang smiled faintly without responding.
