Weird System

"Sir Skeleton, please help us"

"Ahem, Sir Vampire, just call me Charlie"

"..."

The vampire went on to explain how his master, Cheng, and Uncle Bu were powerful people. But, they need my help in a skeleton competition for the chance at redeeming their name.

Uncle Bu and Uncle Cheng had their names sullied when the vampire, Fang, lost a battle.

There is only one thing I can do now, I ran.

I learned in the book that skeletons just need to look into their soul flame to see their strength. That strength can be used for spells.

So, I tried learning a bone calling spell.

I can cast this to take an unused bone or my own bone and attach it to myself.

I quickly got my legs and ran.

You see, skeletons are stupid.

The reason lies in their soul.

A weaker soul can't hold memories after death and can't retain thoughts.

They are normally weaker because they have a smaller soul flame.

Another thing is that skeletons are stupid. Stupidly powerful.

You see, skeletons can't just move. They use mana to move.

Like golems!

But, they are lightweight and have a more complex mana flow system.

The mana flow system can be adjusted over years to grow more powerful.

This is the so called, "cultivation".

Adjusting the mana flow system can make the mana flow more effective, resulting in more power.

You see, skeletons take mana from dead stuff and straight from souls.

They can also be given mana (you can give any creature mana).

The concept is weird but everything with mana is like a vacuum.

We suck mana in, need energy to get mana, and most importantly, places to store and use mana.

Skeletons are easy to tame and easy to use because how good their mana flow and mana vacuum system is.

So basically, I'm fast as a cheetah.

I figured Uncle Bu was a warrior. He didn't use magic against a powerful skeleton like me, so he can't be a warrior mage.

I escaped into the woods.

I am tired.

I think I'm running out of mana.

I can't move without it.

I can't live without it.

I need something dead.

Bear. A giant bear. It's eating a deer. A giant deer.

The bear is at least 6 feet in height and 10 feet in length. I can beat it.

Energy and mana are different things, so it might not notice me sucking out the mana from the deer corpse.

I started sucking, delicious.

It tastes like grass.

"Soul Flame System activated, suck the deers soul."

...

What?

I climbed up the tree in fear that someone was nearby.

"I am your soul. We are one. Stop trying to run. I am you."

Can you not be confusing?

"..."

Weirdo.

"Eat the deers soul."

How?

"Focus"

"Feel it"

I ate the mana.

"Eat the soul"

Mana is enough

"Soul power produces more mana then you can imagine"

??

"Trust me"

No.

"Just do it"

No.

"System punishment."

"AAAAAAAAGGGAAAAAAAAGGGAGAAAAAAGAAAGAGA"

-Bear POV-

God damn, this deer was hard to take down.

Deer taste good.

Good mana.

Good elemental power.

Yum.

"AAAAAAAAGGAAAAAAAAAAGGGAGAAAAAGAGA"

POWERFUL MANA

Mana infused roar?

In tree?

Monkey mana?

-Charlie's POV-

Oh no, the bear saw me.

I- I got to run.

"Kill the bear, your mana infused scream makes you look yummy. It won't stop until it kills you."

How do I fight back?

"Use the deer corpse"

Ok?

I used mana and infused it with the deer.

Something is stopping me.

It's small.

"That is the soul. Eat it. Use your soul"

How?

"The mana is like a stream, you are letting it flow. Put your part of your soul into the stream and consume the small soul"

Ok

I ate the soul.

I felt power.

"The soul is like a generator. Use the soul to make mana and energy. Advance your mental energy."

Then, I felt a terrible pain in my leg.
