Chapter 13

I sighed as I followed Jason through the apartment. So what exactly are we doing today? I asked him.

Well outside of your practice I think you're we could sit and I could read to you like we used to do when you were younger. He told me.

I would like that. But instead I think I'd like your help with a new song. I tell him and then pull out my notebook from the backpack.

You want me to help you with one of your songs? He asked, confused.

You are Outside of Kayla the one person I know who won't pick on me for how I think I wanna come to my songs. I handed him the notebook and pen.

"Okay let's hear it." He said as he flipped through my book.

"Topic." I said softly. "Love." I tell him.

"Okay." He said as he wrote.

"Subtopic sibling love." I said leaning back.

"Okay." The pen scratches along the paper

"Now where did that come from?" I started. "That bruise on your cheek little bro where did that come from? Who, who do I need to remind to talk with their words and not their fist.

"Who's jaw do I need to break?" He asked me. I snort. "No really who is it that you know they have had this happening?" He asked me.

I bit my lip then sighed.

"Neal's girlfriend got pissed at him because he missed their date night and she punched him." I bit my tongue as I thought about how many times she has done that. "I have tried to talk to him…" I sighed.

He's probably played them off as bruises from heroing or training." Jason sighed.

"Indeed." I agreed with him.

"I will need to have a talk with him.

"Yes." I agreed with him.

"I understand that he will probably be mad at me for saying something about this." I sighed as I leaned back against the couch.

"I am sure." He said.

"In the margin can you add whose jaw do I need to break?" I asked him

"Yea." He said as I listened to the pen on the paper.

"So can you take me to practice since Kayla and Zake are busy with her mom?"

"Sure but will you guys be able to practice without her there?" He asked me.

"We can start working on the new song without her plus we understand that sometimes we can't make it so we have songs we can do with just three of us. Plush if It's just Dora and Ruma they work as one of the best pairs I have ever seen and heard."

"What about this Nicole character?" He asked me.

"Nicole is great with tech and dancing but she can not sing." I said with a smile.

"When is your practice?" He asked me.

"We usually meet up at 11 and then have lunch at 1 then are back at it at 2 till 5." I tell him.

"Shit." He said. I smiled at him.

"What?" I asked.

"Well, it's 10:20." He said.

"Well then let's go, you may bring one gun." I said to him as I stand up and grab my walking stick and headed to the door.

"Do you need anything to change into?" He asked me.

"No, I keep my workout clothes at the studio." I told him.

"Very well." He said as I hear him moving around the room and I smile as I hear him cursing and I simply leaned against the wall as I waited.

"Okay, where are we going?" He asked me.

"Go to Luise street and it's the second building on the right off of Oldtown road then we go to the basement." I told him.

"As soon as I find my keys we can get going." He said as something jingles next to me.

"You hung them up there next to me." I told him.

"Zake must have hung them up." He said.

"He's good like that." I said calmly. I walked out of the apartment and waited for him to lock up and then linked my arm with him.

"You're the only one who can get away with this." He groans.

I laugh. "Well, I would hope you would let me. I don't know your building all that well."

"Yea I know." He sighed.

"Then you shouldn't move things around or have that thing set up so I can come over and visit." I told him as he stopped me as someone flew in front of us.

"Fuck!" I hear.

"Todd move I need to kick that thing's ass." Someone else snarled.

"Let us think and you can."

"Wh… Oh, you must be Lara." They said.

"Yes, I am." I said with a smile.

"Nice to meet you Todd here talks about you and Neal, the best of his siblings." They said,

"Yea yea come on Lara." He said pulling me forward.

"Are you embarrassed that you talk about us?" I asked him as the elevator shut behind us.

"You and Neal no. The other maybe a little." He said.

"Well then." I said leaning against him and sighs.

"Everything okay?" He asked me.

"Not really but we will be." I told him.

"Of course. He said, patting the top of my head. I smiled and walked forward as we reached our floor.

"Coralian give me eyes." I said making Jason stiffen as I feel the nanobots crawl up my arms and then to my face acting like sunglasses as the eyes activate. "Connect to Data." I said as she does so.

"You running a test on the eyes function?" She asked me.

"I wouldn't have called if I wasn't." I tell her as I followed Jason to his car.

"Ohh this will be a good test for my babies." She said and I rolled my eyes.

"Yea yea Data will also test the spell Kayla put on your babies."

"Indeed I will be here already so I can do some updates to them when you get here." She said.

"Sounds great, Sky out." I said.

"What spell?" Jason asked me.

"The one that makes these things see input itself into my brain so I can see. A lot of times it's more just like clay with no color." I said as the eyes activated and I could see his face again we are at the clay stage but it's better than nothing.

"That sucks."

"With some tweaks to the spell in a couple of weeks, I will be able to see fins with this like I can with my purple drake mask." I said leaning back as I watched the people and buildings move past us. I sighed after twenty minutes. "Coralian turn off eyes." I said. As they moved away from my face I dropped my head into my hands.

"Too much?" He asked me.

"Yea there's a reason you don't see purple a lot unless you actually need me." I tell him. "I get an overload." I tell him.

"I understand that." He said as he rubbed my hair.

"Thanks." I said softly.

"And we are here." He said after we parked.

"Yes!" I said as I got out of the car and headed to the door.

"Lara." I hear.

"Alister!" I said as I turned and looked towards his voice. "How are you today?" I asked him

"I am well Nicole said you were running a test on the eyes but you not wearing them now.

"It got to be too much Al." I said. "Al this is my brother Jason." I said introducing the two of them.

"Nice to meet you thanks for looking after my sister." Jason said.

"Lara Is the one we should be thanking she and Kayla helped us get used to this domination." He said.

"You're a dimension hopper?" He asked him.

"Guys not here." I said to them.

"Of course, let's get inside." Alister said as I opened the door to the basement. I headed down the stairs.

"Hey, Spinner." I said reaching up and running my fingers along the spider body.

"Hello, Miss Lara!" He said happily.

"How are you today?" I asked him.

"I am well Mother has made me a new body I will be uploaded into tomorrow!" I smiled.

"Oh, and what will you be now?" I asked him as I went out into the room.

"I want to be a dog." He said.

"A dog?" I asked him.

"Yup I want to be a dog." He said.

"I thought you liked being a spider." I said patting his head.

"I do I do but." He started muttering and I squatted down to his size.

"But what?" I asked him.

"Everyone is scared of me." He sounded sad and I patted his spider leg.

"Who is everyone?"

"I tried to help the neighbor lady and she screamed at me." He said. "Then there was the landlord who hit me with a metal pope."

"Oh dear, that's not good." I said, rubbing the spider's head. "That was quite rude of him."

"Yeah I ended up getting into a fight with him earlier today after that." Nicole said. "I have told him multiple times that I will leave him here and play guard with our stuff. He is our guard dog, only he's a robot. In the form of a spider."

"I have to say if a robotic spider that size tried to get near me I think I would hit it with a Crowbar just because I don't know it." Jason said.

"But like you said you don't know him." Nicole said, correcting his terminology for her spider. "However I have introduced the landlord to him multiple times and he still smacked my spinner with a lead pipe."

"I will grant you that if he knew it he shouldn't have done that even if he has a fear of spiders." Jason agreed with her.

"And you must be Jason AKA Red Hood." Nicole said as I can hear her walk closer to us.

"You seem to be well informed." I can feel his eyes on me.

"Well yeah but then again I had everything I could get my hands on including your cave security feed when I came to this Dimension simply to get an understanding of what is what here." Nicole said smiling in her voice

" I think you'd get along well with the Golden Boy or the replacement." Jason said after a minute.

"Well I'm sure I would, considering they're both techys and hackers like me. I'm not so sure how I'm fine they would be with me knowing who they are. That and I have a feeling the one you call the replacement Tim would feel very assaulted if he found out I hacked his system multiple times with him never noticing." Nicole said I can hear the beat Pride in her voice as she speaks.

"Oh I am sure he would but I would love to see his reaction." Jason laughed. "And I'm going to assume that you are DataMaster. Is that correct?"

"The one and only."
