The calm before the storm

Herro felt his head getting dizzy, but it was still manageable. The armor was heavy and although it has a shock-absorption mechanism, the impact of his fall still resulted in his dizziness.

His head injury from the time when they descended through the hole still hasn't healed and with his recent fall, he felt dizzy. His previous injury was stirred by his fall.

Kira helped him stand up and she reached out her fingers towards Herro's helmet's chin and pressed a small button there. Then Herro's helmet opened up and Kira saw Herro who was closing his eyes because of his dizziness.

"Hey, are you fine?" Kira asked in concern, and Herro replied, "Yes, but I'm a little bit dizzy. Please let me rest a little bit." Kira nodded and laid Herro down on the floor. Herro stayed there for two minutes before opening his eyes. Then he slowly sat up and asked Kira, "Can you help me remove this thing?"

When Kira heard his plea, she chuckled and she assisted Herro to stand up. After Herro stood up, she started to press different buttons in different parts of the armor until it fully opens.

Herro stepped his right foot in front slowly and he removed his arm from the armor. After that, he finally escaped the grasp of the armor. He sighed in relief, as if he escaped the grasp of death.

"Are you fine?" Kira asked Herro after he removed himself from the armor. Herro nodded and said, "We should get going." But right after he uttered those words, his stomach growled.

His eyes widened and he looked at Kira and let out a sheepishly, "Hehe" laugh.

Kira looked at her wristwatch and realized that it was now noon. "I think we should take our lunch first before setting out our plan."

She led Herro to a table and Herro followed her like a loyal dog, following his owner that is bringing his food. And when they reached the table, Kira placed down her bag and pulled some smoked meat, jerky, and two water bottles.

She handed some of the meat jerky to Herro and also the water bottle. They ate quietly and they finished soon. After finishing her food, Kira told Herro about her plan.

"You already knew that the room I entered is the armory, right?" Herro nodded as a response to Kira's question. Then Kira continued, "My main purpose is to retrieve this." Then she leaned down to get something. Herro was curious about what it was and he saw Kira placed a long weapon case. Herro didn't notice it at all and he realized that he was fixated on asking questions to Kira to quell his thirst for modern knowledge.

After placing the weapon case on the table, Kira opened it so Herro can see what's contained inside.

Herro saw a shotgun-like weapon, but at the same time it looks like a sniper rifle. It has a combination of white and black. Its design is so intricate that Herro didn't know what's the use of it. It looks like a gun copied directly from modern-themed games and science fiction movies.

"What is this?" Herro said as he caressed the surface of the gun as he admired how cool and fascinating the design and color combination is.

Kira knew that Herro admired these types of things. You will always be fascinated you only see in dreams, movies, and things you've never seen before, that is what she believed based on her experience.

"This is an Electric Net Gun that is used to apprehend dangerous persons and animals," Kira explained. Herro was again amazed by how the world progressed in just a thousand years. Then he noticed round things besides the Electric Net Gun.

"That are these round things for?" Although he had a little hint about what it is and he knew that Kira could explain this, even he didn't ask, he couldn't just contain his curiosity.

"These are the bullets for this gun. Inside of these golf-sized bullets is a fine thread of pure silver. With the pure silver's elasticity and high conductivity, the Electric Net Gun can show its full potential. There is a core inside that needed to be charged by the gun. This thing will explode immediately after it came out of the muzzle, so it has a relatively short range."

Herro nodded and said, "I see this gun will be useful for our fight with the Mutants, right?" Kira nodded in response and added, "If we increase the electrical charge on the core of the bullet and after we fire it to the Mutant, we can throw hydrogen grenades to the Mutant without activating it." Kira paused to take a short breath and drink some water. "The electrical output of the net will instigate the hydrogen bomb to explode immediately, so we won't need five seconds for its activation." Then Kira smiled proudly at her plan that she found fascinating.

Herro visualized her plan and he was amazed at how feasible and superb her plan is. With the Electric Net Gun and the Hydrogen grenade, killing a Mutant will be much easier.

If they will throw Hydrogen Bombs directly at the Mutant, it will give the Mutant more time to react and escape. Unlike trapping it with an electric net, with the net gun, although it won't trap the Mutant completely, it will instigate the hydrogen bomb to explode immediately after contact with the electricity.

Kira stood up and faced Herro firmly with her face filled with determination and excitement. Then she said, "Let's go and kill those bastards! Absorb them and you will become stronger and stronger and stronger!"

Herro got agitated by her words and his face was also filled with determination and excitement.

Kira saw how excited Herro is and she smiled. Who wouldn't get excited about getting stronger in this world where the strong reigns. Then she extended her hand and said, "Shall we go?"

Herro smiled and replied excitedly, "Please lead the way, Kira."
