Losing Hope

The system had already helped Herro a lot of times by assisting him in controlling his body. The system was like an AI that helps the player auto-attack in MMO-RPG games that are popular nowadays.

It helps Herro back then when he transfers his vitality to Kira. But the system will only help him when it recognizes the command. In short, Herro couldn't command the system to execute something that even Herro himself hasn't tried.

Back then, when Herro transferred his vitality to Kira for the first time, the system didn't intervene in the process to help him because it didn't recognize the command. But after Herro created the skill Effect Transfer, it now has the ability to help Herro in executing that skill.

Now, Herro asked the system to help him execute the Spinning Attack skill. He didn't have the ability to execute the skill all by himself because he was already about to lose consciousness, and only the system will be able to help him.

**Author's note: Hi guys, to understand how the system works, you can refer to the anime where there is an overpowered blue cute slime...thanks**

[Initiating complete.]

After the system's confirmation, claws replaced Herro's fingers, and he started spinning.

The rest of the crows had already reached Herro and were waiting for the opportunity to attack.

Herro did not bother himself to remove the crows on his body like a parasite who infested his body. It is because he already knew what would happen if he removes them. He saw in a certain anime where rats attack a character. After the character shoved the rats attacking him, other rats replaced that vacant position until they overwhelmed that character.

That is why Herro chose to ignore the crows latching at him while slowly pecking his flesh.

The crows were like moths in a silent night where a flame was the only luminous object illuminating the night, and Herro was that flame.

The crows encircled Herro as they fly. If you look at them from afar, it will appear like a ball with moving colors of black and white.

Luckily, the encirclement of the crows was within Herro's range of attack, which placed him in a slightly favorable situation.

Herro is currently spinning like a top. He has already killed five of the crows so far. Their bodies were like tofu when they faced Herro's sharp, menacing claws.

He hurriedly absorbed the ones he killed, and it replenished his energy, but his physical condition was still the same.

The crows that were latched on his body were still there, gripping as hard as they can. Herro gritted his teeth as blood seeped out of his mouth. He was trying to endure and suppress the pain he was suffering.

Herro continued to spin. He killed and then absorbed them to replenish the vitality he lost and to sustain his physical condition. Herro didn't feel nauseous at all after spinning for so long because his mind was already strong. It was also healed by the crows he absorbed.

The crows grew warry of Herro and enlarged their encirclement. This action of the crows was disadvantageous to Herro because they escaped his range of attack. This renders his Spinning Attack's effectiveness gradually lowered.

When Herro noticed this, he stopped spinning and used this opportunity to remove the crows latching on his body and kill them.

Herro couldn't help but shout in agony and pain when he removes the crows latching unto his body. Their claws had pierced his flesh, and when he removes them, it leaves horrifying wounds.

Herro's back is where the worst of all the worst wounds are located. Fleshes were mangled and hanging. The blood continuously seeping out of his back.

Herro felt the worst pain ever. Herro also upgraded his five senses, and he was still lucid at the moment, making him feel every pain from the wounds all around his body.

The crows grew warry of him because of the amount of their comrade that Herro could kill easily with his claws. They were flying in the distance above him, flying in circles like a kettle of vultures that had found their prey.

Herro was huffing and puffing for some air after spinning around and killing the crows. Although he could sustain that technique for a long time by absorbing the crows he killed, he still suffers from side effects.

As he was catching his breath, he stared at the crows a fifty meters above his head. The crows are still numbered about a hundred or more, and this adds to Herro's frustrations.

In his perspective, these terrifying crows were indeed an emissary of death. Still, unlike what he had seen in the movies where crows appeared before a horrifying scene happens, it was the crows who brought him horrible wounds.

But Herro was not able to notice the real meaning of the crows' actions. Herro just thought that the crows were wary of him, but it was different. Their desire to devour him had increased, and they were preparing for their ultimate attack.

The crows' rotational speed in the air is constantly increasing every second. Herro felt the air around him move in circles. He tried to look up, and that is when he realized he fucked up.

The crows keep on garnering speed as they try to create a whirlwind. Herro decided to run away from them, but the crows are intelligent creatures even before they evolved.

They immediately sent one crow to intercept him. That crow used the momentum he got from flying in circles and immediately intercepted Herro.

Herro reacted just the way the crows wanted. He stopped in his tracks and put on his defensive stance. He managed to kill that crow, but the interception didn't stop. The crows rushed at him one after another, preventing him from escaping the center of the whirlwind that they were creating.

Herro continued to escape. He did different things, but all of them were useless in the face of the relentless attack of the crows.

After trying for some time, herro decided to stop and analyze his situation. The crows didn't stop at garnering speed as they continued to fly in circles above Herro.

He tried to analyze, "Why are the crows so desperate to kill and eat me?" "Why do they act accordingly and with uniformity?"

As he pondered about his current situation and about the true nature of these crows, he realized something. "It was as if they're being commanded by someone or something."

Herro looked back from what happened when the flock of crows attacked him. He already noticed at that time that the crows moved intelligently when they still surrounded him. At that moment, he just ignored it and concluded that they had just created a hunting routine after hunting together for some time.

That is why he ignored what he noticed at the time and solely focused on fending the crows' attack to survive.

Herro realized that there must be someone commanding these crows, and he suspected that there is a queen in this flock.

He couldn't think of anything else other than believing that a queen might be commanding them.

After he realized what really was going on, he immediately scanned the surroundings, trying to find the queen he suspects.

But after thoroughly scanned his surroundings, he wasn't able to find the queen. Herro concluded that the queen might be hiding in a place that was beyond his vision, or it was hiding inside a building.

Herro feels frustrated and also afraid at the same time. He really feels hopeless in his current situation right now.

Herro couldn't escape because the crows will intercept and prevent him from escaping. Even if he really found where their queen is hiding, attacking her is really an impossible thing.

Accepting his fate is what Herro is considering right now. "At least Kira escaped." is what Herro told himself before he sat down at the center of the whirlwind that the crows were making.

He decided to lie down and wait for his death. He wanted to struggle, but he knew it was hopeless. He already realized what the crows are doing.

They're not making a simple whirlwind. They are going to use the whirlwind to increase their speed and attack Herro relentlessly.

Even if he decided to fight back, the damage he will receive would surpass his regenerative ability. That is why he decided to surrender in this game called life.

Herro was looking above as he lay down on the ground. The crows' formation is superb as he was staring at how organized they are.

The whirlwind they're making grew stronger and stronger after every second passed by.

After staring at the crow's formation for some time, Herro noticed that the center of the formation seems vacant. Then a scene from the school played in his mind.

He was listening to a teacher and their topic is about tornadoes. The scene played so fast and then Herro remembered something that his teacher had said. "The calmest part of a tornado is in its eye."

The hope that Herro has in his heart that he let go instantly came back to his being. The will to live on his eyes is burning brightly.

Herro plans to jump upward from the center of the whirlwind or its eye to break the crows' formation.
