My first Dive: Let's do it!

Virtual Reality Game: Destined Throne

That was the widely popular game in my country, the very first original creation that developed entirely by my fellow citizen team that brought pride and joy to us a still developing country.

"Hey, want to play Legendary Throne?"

"Oy, it's Destined Throne! Destined! and it's hella expensive, my family couldn't afford it! Even though we did, there is no way my parents would go all their way to please me who can't even enter the 15 class ranking."

"Yeah, me too. Let's just play soccer instead! It's more exciting anyway"

"O-ooh, okay. Let's go then."

Unfortunately, not all of them actually that eager to ride the wave and increase someone else revenue. Maybe in one of the developed countries where they all have a lot of money on their family bank account, but for us highschool student who only given around 1-2 $ for daily allowance, and it could actually on the higher side, such a game is only a waste of time and resource.

Even though ever since its release debut, my countries president without fail always keeps encouraging all who can afford that expensive entertainment game, not all of us budge.

Through any necessary means including TV, Social Media, and even directly spoken in his formal speech, the president keeps preaching his advice continuously all so that it would increase money circulation and even hope to popularize our currency's foreign exchange to the world.

Only until all of our ears ringing and almost ruined that we all arrive at a certain conclusion...it was to advertise and reviewing the game even though we never play it.

Once we, my county citizen decide to do a collective goal, we are weirdly tight-knitted as if on the same wavelength. The game's official website, video streaming, TV Ad, Social Media, and even some school decide to give a certain amount of basic information to their student regarding the game, hoping it would manage to give an international gamers fanatic a good impression toward "our" creation.

Though, I have a little different opinion regarding that.

There is no point in doing that if I can't and didn't know what the heck this all about, that's why I start to do a part-time job even though I am just enrolled in university. All I had been doing was only work and saving money to buy the game, work again, go home tired, and repeat, resulting in my mark ruined.

While at it, I also didn't forget to follow the information regarding the game and sometimes likes the comment there.

At one point, it even manages to bundle that game under 4.78 out of 5 ratings in one of the most credible gaming reviewer website that's quite famous for its credibility, making us even more eager to sell that game to the world.

That's why when it was advertised internationally but actually mocked by them, we all raged, spamming that certain site who "slander" our "High-Quality" game. Unfortunately, they all are playing the game directly, we aren't.

It's basically because they felt cheated and raged after all of that "Good" excitement that their disappointment becomes more prominent to them and "we", the one who's at fault, couldn't give them a satisfactory answer.

I don't know who starts it at first, but some kind of new fad started to bloom in that website, making the game rating that goes downhill and should stop around 3.9, to actually go down even more.

In the end, it stops once the rating reaches 2.9, the lowest possible under the virtual category.

To make it worse, a new MMORPG virtual online gaming that's a gazillion better than that "Crappy" 2.9 rated game, based on their review, started to appear out of nowhere. It boasts more than 90% realistic experience, an open map that's ready to be explored, a lot of fanciful effects, you name it.

To summarize, "Virtual Reality Game: Destined Throne", which was wildly popular in my country, after a lot of criticism and insistence, decide to close down after only 4 years since its release.

....

Four years had passed, and now, I am soon will be graduated from university.

How do I say it, because of my weird and unnecessary patriotism and that low score of mine, I almost ruined my future.

It took me only my last year before graduating that I realize something goes terribly wrong that I choose to quit my job and focus entirely on my study and then finally made it, at least with a quite low GPA about 2.7.

Some might say that it's not that bad though, but it is low no matter how you slice it.

"Hey, want to play?"

"Play what?"

"VR of course! Aren't you already bought one? You didn't play it yet?"

"...I am going home."

"Ciiih, no fun!"

Hearing one of my friends suddenly asks me to play that game while my mood starts to get bad after remembering all of that, I decide to reject them and go home directly.

"Why is he so cold? Does he didn't like the game that much?"

"Well, you know patriots right?"

"Yeah, of coures I know that tragedy. Wait, don't tell me...he is one? Or even his family actually one of the game dev?"

"No...it's not that. Apparently, he got a very low GPA because he wants to support the game, working and all. But, not yet even bought it, the game closed down."

"*Sigh, his luck really. Well, I also feel bad for the dev. Once things went wrong, those patriots just disappear into thin air."

"Yeah, that's why I thought that it wouldn't be bad for him to create an account and get a lucky roll reward and then give me if he didn't want to use--"

"Oi, I can hear you though!!??"

"Ahaha, just go home already and worry about your future!!"

"F*** you!!"

They really like to gossip about others when the person still around!

Well, I didn't really that angry though.

Anyway, the game that craze the gaming world and ruined the other is called "Fantasies Future". A typical MMOPRG where one leveling up and getting stronger with very high realism, one that always appears every now and then within a web novel circle.

Apparently, what makes that cliche so interesting because it's low assistance when playing the game. You can get a skill and all, but the game dev only gave players a hint afterward and one needs to train that skill themselves later.

There is even this story where a magician decides to abandon his job because he is too stupid to learn about the magic complexity.

But, isn't it weird?

I mean, you normally want to play a game where one could do things beyond logic right? Why would people get that high even though they are forced to think even when playing?

Actually, after they are capable of surpassing that challenge, learning from scratch and build their own way of discovery, the excitement and happiness it brought are kinds of addicting, at least that's what they say.

It's really a nightmarish game for idiots and ignorance.

Well, the game dev isn't that sadist, fortunately. Because they still have a normal gaming procedure where even a child could understand, and one can adjust its assistance accordingly, but, with a penalty.

As for the so-called penalty, I couldn't care less. I am not even playing it after all.

One thing I am sure of is, it might be worse enough to make an adult player abandon his job and start anew.

"So, what do you want to do after graduating?"

"...get a job?"

"Do you think that with such a crappy GPA, you could interest the HR team? Even I am cringed after seeing it."

"Ugh, mom, I know that."

Gaming technology might indeed start to get popularized, especially after that new game release around 3 months ago. But, the reason I couldn't care less was because of this kind of thing. My father who asked about my plan, and my mother who give her snides make me realize that my life would become terribly difficult from now on if things go on without any plan in mind.

"In that case, just go wild, son"

""???""

But, once my father suddenly said such a weird thing out of sudden, I and my mother couldn't help but titled our heads in confusion.

"I mean, you have a bleak future in any case anyway. Fortunately, there is this wildly popular game poping out all of sudden, and I believe it would bring us a very unexpected development."

In order to convince me, or at least my mother who already has a red face because of anger, my father calmly explains his reasoning.

In summary, follow the wave.

I get a little annoyed when he carelessly said that my future already bleak in any case, but I knew where he came from. This game not only interests youngsters but also a lot of companies already start to glance at the convenience such virtual gaming brought to them.

He even dares to say that he would let me do as I wish for one year, and then take responsibility regarding my employment if something goes wrong, how cool.

You better remember your promise!

Leaving my father who still convincing my angry mother, I then walk toward my own room and turning on my computer. Opening a certain job site and click at one of them, a certain explanation there that states that their Interview would be held virtually basically shot down a lot of contenders who are broke or simply didn't get up to date.

I know that, I simply imagined such a thing to happens sooner or later.

That's why I bought the gaming capsule despite its price and "our" history.

Looking back at the giant capsule that takes up half of my room space, I can't help but recalls when my mother's beautiful face, my mother is always beautiful mind you, became a red demon as I use my saving to buy something that she deemed useless.

Right now, it might only for interview convenience, but one really couldn't predict what kind of future this kind of technology might bring to us humanity development. That's why, being the first, or even just a second batch to ride such a wave might bring them to something interesting in the future.

"Just go wild...huh. You better take responsibility, dad."

Talking on my own as if encouraging myself, I then enter the capsule and start the game.

*Ding

You have a Golden Seed that hasn't been used yet, would you like to use it?

"...Yes"

*Ding

Golden Seed has been used. You are now eligible to choose any race, gender, and summoning location.

"...Go wild, go wild. Hehe...heheh. Then...let's choose this."
