At 5 years old, Madilynnes' best friend Katie is kidnapped by Rogues. Katies' parents are murdered, and shortly after, Madilynnes' mom is also killed. Madilynne's life is turned upside down in more ways than one. She was uprooted from the only home she's ever known and thrown into a life she never expected to have. After her best friend's disappearance and her moms' murder, she is left broken.
Soon after Madilynne's 18th birthday, everything she's ever known in her hectic life is flipped on her again. With one word, "Mate" .

"Alley, I'm so sorry. I love you with everything in my heart and soul. Please tell Katie I'm sorry I won't be there for her and I'll always love her." I choked out a gasp as I reached for the door to Madillynes room, My heart felt like lead, my soul being ripped into two, the other half, I could feel disintegrating. I wanted to wail for my Mate. But before I could, a heart-stopping scream jolted me from my spot. 


 I rushed into Madilynnes room to see a rogue snarling and headed for the girls. Without second thought I shifted into my chocolate brown wolf and charged for the rogue. The rogue anticipated my every move and in one swift motion, the rogue sliced me across her throat. I could feel my life draining, as I reached out for them. Everything growing cold, as my vision began to blacken. 


 Alleys body was now lifeless, Katie and I stood in shock. " MOMMY!" Katie screamed in horror and sorrow filled whimpers. The rogue turned to Katie and grabbed her and jumped from the second-story window and bolted. " KATIE! NO!" I shouted, left in the room heartbroken and terrified, alone now. 


Dad came barreling into the room snarling moments later " Alley! Madilynne where is Katie, what happened?" 


"he-he killed alley and he took k-Katie" I broke down in more tears. 


"Kami take Madilynne to the safe house NOW!" Dad boomed. 


Mom rushed in and grabbed me from the horror filled room. 


Soon, we were being escorted by the pack warriors to the safe house. 


 'what's happening, where is Katie, and where is sebastian?' I mind linked Finn. 


' Sebastian is dead, we were attacked by rogues. They've taken Katie. Stay in the safe house do not leave I will come to get you soon" Finn said sounding defeated. 


I was going to ask who would do this when a warrior came charging in through the door " Luna, we're not safe here we have to move you. Now." 


" No, Finn is coming for us we cannot leave there's not another safe house for us. We need to fight off whoever's behind all of this, I will not lose anyone else today!" I commanded in my Luna voice. 


A sinister smile slipped across his thin lips, sending chills over my spine, " I hoped you were smarter than that kami, for that you will pay with your life!" The warrior shouted. The warrior jumped at me but I fought back. The warrior soon got the upper hand on me, his arms banded around my head as pressure pulled at my spine. 


I was in his wolf form when I felt the heart shattering pain forcing me to shift human again, "kami! No!" I shouted and fell to the ground. Gamma Aiden rushed to my side " we need to get to madilynne, we have to go alpha!" 


We rushed to the safe house to find a battle, the warriors were fighting a losing battle to the rogues. I snarled and jumped in to help the warriors fight off the rogues. ' find Madilynne and protect her with your life!' I roared through the mind link with Aiden. 


I flew into a rage and ripped apart every rogue wolf in my path, fighting with the pain from the loss of my mate. My luna. Madilynnes mom. 


The warriors had the last of the rogues surrounded and waited for me to approach. 


I swiftly turned to my human form and demanded the rogues " who do you work for!" 


" kill us now alpha, you will get no information from us" the rogue said with an evil smirk. 


" then you will die for what you've done!" I growled, eyes glowing gold, 


I turned to the warriors "keep one alive and take him to the cells, the rest die."
