Second Chances

Kades POV

After talking to Madi, and exchanging our painful past stories, we headed back inside. She showed me where my room was, I insisted that she let me walk her to her room. Honestly, I need to be with her, even just a few minutes longer. My wolf was pacing and snarling inside, he wanted to rip the heart out of the male that harmed our mate.

We walked quietly, side by side to her room. I looked down at her, she was so beautiful, her black hair cascaded to her mid-back and swayed as she walked. I could see a little dusting of freckles across each side of her nose, bringing out her hazel eyes. My mate, so gorgeous.

Lost in her beauty, we stopped at a door.

"This is me." She said hiding a smile.

"Don't do that, don't hide your smiles from me." I said lifting her chin slightly up so I could look at her face.

She smiled up at me, I got lost in her perfect hazel eyes, more bright and hypnotic than I could remember them being. Her eyes held pain but also strength, I wanted to take away that pain so badly from her and replace it with the love I held in my heart for someone who deserved nothing more than to be cherished every moment.

I broke the gaze and stepped back "Madi, as much as I'd like to kiss you right now I don't think I can control myself. My wolf is fighting to mark you, especially after what you just told me."

She looked at me with her hazel eyes, I could see a flicker of defiance flash through them.

She took a bold step to me brushing up against me and said "Stop fighting, and kiss me already Kade."

I pulled her closer to me and crashed my lips on hers, the sparks were shooting from where our bodies connected. I kissed her with so much passion and need, never wanting to break the kiss.

Madi finally broke the heated kiss and laid her head on my chest "I think I should go now, we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow." She said breathlessly.

"Until tomorrow, Mate." I said breaking our close contact.

After she closed her door I headed to my room.

I threw myself onto the bed, remembering the kiss we shared.

I fell asleep to the thought of Madi.

My alarm went off at 5 am. For the first time in years, I slept. The nightmare never came. Madi is safe. She's here. My second chance mate.

A part of me felt guilty for getting a second chance mate, after Anastasia, I thought I'd never be whole again. I know she would want me to move on, but she was ripped from this world so violently. She deserved more than that, to die in peace after having a long happy life.

Maybe this was the moon goddesses' plan, maybe I was always meant for Madi to come back to me. Even when we were kids I felt a connection to her, like I needed to protect her. She was special.

I rolled out of bed and jumped in the shower, after washing I shut the water off. I got some clothes from my bag since we'd be training today I put on some red shorts and grabbed a simple black shirt.

I didn't like the idea of Madi training at all, but this was necessary. She needed to know how to protect herself if I couldn't. I'd have to hold myself back today, it was gonna be a long day.

I left my room and headed for the back door.

As I was rounding the corner for the stairs, something small ran into me. Sparks were shooting everywhere, it was Madi.

I grabbed onto her before she could fall. Gaining her balance she looked up to me "Shit sorry Kade, didn't want to be late for the first day of training." She said with a humorous laugh.

Her laugh was music to my ears, I almost didn't see what she was wearing. Finally taking notice I let out a deep growl, "Madi, you can't wear that."

She was wearing black shorts that came to her belly button and ended at her mid-thighs, showing her tan and toned muscled legs, her top was a maroon training top that hugged her breasts and brought out her tanned skin. "Listen here, mate, I'll wear whatever I please. I won't be changing. I don't have time, now if you'll excuse me I have training to go too." She huffed in annoyance. I groaned at her reply, really dreading today now.

"Madi I'm sorry, I just don't want all the un-mated wolves drooling over my Mate. Okay?" I said with a sigh, following her down the stairs.

"I'm a big girl, I can handle it, Kade." She retorted back.

God, this woman was going to be the death of me.

We headed for the training grounds just behind the house, we were met there with alpha Finn, my dad, and Aiden.

I almost forgot it'd be him training my mate.

It really is gonna be a long day.

"Alright now that everyone is present, Aiden I'll leave you two to it." Alpha finn said.
