At 5 years old, Madilynnes' best friend Katie is kidnapped by Rogues. Katies' parents are murdered, and shortly after, Madilynnes' mom is also killed. Standing in front of the foggy mirror, the mist dancing across my skin as Kade showered I looked at myself. My gaze fell on Kade's mark, the golden pattern swirling and trailing off behind my shoulder, then moving to the bruise that sat on my cheek. Instantly sending me into a flashback of the memory. Clenching my fists I slammed them on the counter in front of me. I should've fought harder. Anything. I could have saved her if I tried harder. 


"You did what you could Madi, you were chained to a wall with silver-lined cuffs. You and your wolf both were completely immobilized. This is his fault, not yours." Kade's voice came from behind as he wrapped his arms around my waist, the sparks sending a shiver down my spine and cooling my rage. 


'He's right. After healing everyone, combined with the silver we didn't stand a chance.' Willow's voice floated in my mind.
