"All elements have a similar progression system, you're first born into your category within your element, the way the categories are graded is through the killing potential. For example, Louis, Arthur, and Augustus were all born with category three. It doesn't really matter all too much what category you're born into, as you can practice all categories within your element once you can form your element throughout your whole body.
The category you're born with, however, means you're mostly specialized in that category unless you have a family technique that especially uses a specific category. I was born with category two within the natural attributes but blended it with category three. The earth attribute's categories are plant, earth, metal with the categories in that order. Fire is smoke, fire, lava, water is mist, water, ice and lastly air only holds two categories, being air and lightning," Jack explained.
"Currently, all of you can only use the category you've been born with and most of you can only use your elements through your hands. It's only after you can use your element with your whole body that you can start practicing the other categories, so all of you start working. Try and send your element through other parts of your body."
"Talk about dumping information," Arthur grumbled with his head in his hands. "Well it's not like we can learn this any other way," Louis replied while trying to do as Jack explained. Louis quickly worked his element up his hands into his arms but struggled to create ice after going past his chest area.
Arthur, who managed to glow red throughout his whole upper body and neck smirked proudly. Gritting his teeth, more and more of Louis's body slowly started to glow blue until he too covered his entire upper body with his element.
Jack, who was checking up on the students' progress, was startled to see the twins with their tops off gritting their teeth trying to use more and more of their body to create their element. Augustus, who had managed to cover his forearms with a yellow glow and create static was brooding. "I thought that the idiot brother was the talented one," Augustus mumbled to himself.
"Did you two do this before?" Jack asked the twins who showed a clear difference in talent compared to the other students. "We fought a lot of other kids before," Arthur said while shrugging. "Who would attack a nobleman's family?" another child asked curiously.
"It was before we joined the Bellthornes," Arthur replied, leading to a jab to the ribs from his brother. "Don't say that we aren't born nobles Arthur, they don't need to know," Louis whispered into Arthur's ear.
The child's eyes widened and went to his group of friends whispering to them. Jack took notice of this and came closer to the twins before lowering his voice, "Were you two originally from the slums?"
Within the barony the only children who fought constantly would be the children in the slums who fought for every scrap they could.
"Yes," Arthur replied confidently, Louis didn't stop him this time and just looked toward Jack. "If you two are this talented because you kept fighting I suppose we could adjust the curriculum and add more sparring," Jack said while walking away.
