"My brother may not always be at my side but he is always in my heart."

~Unknown

I woke up to the annoying sound of my alarm clock. It read 7:30.

I slipped into my favourite jeans and shirt and snuck downstairs, trying to scare my brother, Daniel. But as always, he knew.

"You know you can't scare me, little sis," he said, smirking. I glared at him playfully before smacking his arm. He growled, causing me to laugh. Looking around, I stared at the clock, knowing exactly what was going to happen.

3 seconds...

2 seconds...

1 second...

His stomach grumbled on queue just like it did every morning. I chuckled and headed over to the kitchen, looking for specific ingredients. "Would you hurry up, sis? I'm hungry," Daniel whined.

I looked at him in confusion before saying, "It is morning."

"Sure it is," he said, rolling his eyes. I was about to say something but thought better of it. I kept my mouth shut, shaking my head. I finally finished making enough pancakes for Daniel and me when he took the entire plate and licked them.

Each. And. Every. One.

I clenched my fists, giving Daniel a promising look. He gulped and started taking a few steps back. I was about to give him one hell of a slap when I heard a buzzing sound. I looked around, not seeing anything that could buzz. Whatever it was buzzed again. I followed the sound and realized it was coming from me. Dariel smirked as if knowing what was going on.

I crossed my arms over my chest when I felt the buzzing on my arms.

I looked down and realized it was coming from my boobs.

My boobs-

"MY BOOBS ARE MAKING NOIZE! " I yelled, panicking. Daniel burst into laughter, obviously thinking this was funny. He clutched his stomach, and I was so ready to wipe all the laughter off his face.

"Yo-you're... face," he said, panting for breath, a smile still resting on his mouth.

I looked down at my boobs again and realized that my phone had somehow gotten into my bra. How the hell-

"Sis! Stop ogling your boobs and get ready for school," Daniel said, shaking his head. I stuck my tongue out at him.

"You suck!"

"You swallow," he replied, and I could hear the smirk in his voice.

I scrunched up my face in disgust and checked my phone, seeing a few messages from my best friend, Michael, who is gay.

Michael: Hey, girlfriend.

Michael: I'll pick you up in around 15 mins for school.

Michael: BRYYY!!!! Answer your goddamn phone!

I chuckled and replied saying that I was getting ready. I chucked all of my belongings into my backpack and headed out the door, only to be stopped by Daniel.

"Bry, listen to me. There are so many horny ass guys in high school, and I don't want you to get hurt again." I hugged him deeply and he sighed, resting his chin on my head.

I remembered the day as if it were yesterday...

I was walking back home from volleyball practice when a drunk guy came up to me.

"What's a pretty thing like you doing here all alone?" he slurred. I rolled my eyes and continued walking, obviously not thinking this was a big deal, but I was wrong.

"I was talking to you, bitch," he said more clearly. There was extreme anger in his eyes, and I knew he was still drunk.

"Get away from me," I said, my voice wavering slightly. "No can do, pretty lady. I need a fuck right now, and you seem to be the one to help me," he said, smirking.

My eyes widened and I panicked. What do I do, what do I do, what do I do...

I was brought out of my head when I was hit with a blow to my stomach. "Listen here, slut. You are coming with me, whether you like it or not, you understand?" he growled, yanking my hair. I whimpered in fear and pain, only to hear my brother's voice.

"I suggest you move the fuck away from her," Daniel said calmly... a little too calmly.

The stranger chuckled and yanked my hair harder, causing a few tears to roll down my face. Apparently, that was enough to get Daniel mad as he punched the guy in the face. The stranger cursed, wiping blood from his nose. Daniel didn't give him time to recover as he kicked the guy in the balls, causing him to howl in pain.

"Let's go, Bry," Daniel said angrily. Once we were farther away from the guy, Daniel crushed me into a hug. We haven't hugged in years, and it honestly felt so good to be in my big brother's arms.

"I'm so sorry, Bry," Daniel said, his voice cracking. I sobbed and clung to him as my life depended on him. "Why are you apologizing? You saved me, Daniel. I am so grateful," I said, looking into his eyes. He cracked a soft smile and hugged me again.

"Alright. Enough of this lovey-dovey bullshit. Let's go home and watch a movie," he said, causing me to laugh.

"Only if I get to choose what we eat!" I yelled.

I hadn't realized I was crying until I realized I was being held by Daniel. "What's wrong, Bry?" he asked. I stared at him, hoping I wouldn't have to talk about it. Realization dawned on his face, and he embraced me tightly. I wrapped my arms around his waist and rested my head on his chest.

"It's all in the past, Bry. Don't let it overpower you," he said, kissing my cheek.

I flashed him a soft smile and headed out the door, seeing Michael's car.

"Hey, Bry!" he yelled, loud enough for the entire street to hear. I laughed and hugged him, feeling happier for some reason. But then Michael saw my tear-streaked face.

"Bry?! Why the fuck are you crying. No, wait, I know. You were at home when you realized you lost your virginity... WAIT. NO! You had a crush on someone but you realized they were taken...NO. I KNOW. You realized you had deep feelings for me, but then you thought, Michael is way too hot for me. Sigh. And he's gay. I'm never going to get over him. Maybe I'll turn into those old ladies who have a bajillion cats because of heartache."

I stared at him and he stared back at me. I shook my head before heading into his car and saw Michael smirking at me. This was going to be a long day.
