The Odd-eyed Kitten

Long before the Canes had been banished from the Faey Kingdom, the Lakschmidts had been a dear friend to the noble family. Kleister's father was Dorothy's godfather and, in a sense, they were supposedly closer to being siblings or cousins at that.

Dorothy was someone full of pride and upheld Faey customs to the letter while the younger sister, Euphemia, was like the wind. Never in one place for too long, fleeting, a free spirit. When Kleister had met them the first time, he had been totally disgusted with Euphie.

"Klei why do you hurt me?" Euphie asked one time when Kleister had pushed her down the stairs of the Lakschmidt Manor.

She had been gazing at a little sprite that got lost inside. It was injured, a sprained leg had been struck red and its wings were crumpled. Euphie had wanted to help it but the little sprite flashed its fangs at her in its attempt to defend itself.
