First Catch

There was a cracking sound as her attack made contact with their stumpy bodies and Red saw them wince while another shrieked in pain. The three red caps took off towards the wall and for a second looked like bloody insects stuck on a car's windshield.

The tiny buggers slowly slid down to the ground and plopped, piling together on top of each other. Red almost squealed in joy as she realized she had successfully captured three red caps with one fell swoop.

She moved closer and inspected the tiny dwarves. Their faces weren't that far from the ones below them, even with the difference in size.

They still had boils all over their skin, warts on their faces, and some hair here and there.

Basically, they were a sight for sore eyes.

Literally.

Their odor is pungent, with the metallic smell of blood that were smeared on their bald heads. Red finally understood where the term red cap had come from.
