The Burden His Love Must Bear

Hearing Red's reasons, Archer's resolve said that he wasn't at all convinced and he straightened from his lax position. Somehow the coldness in his voice pierced through Red's heart when he said,

"You have already burdened me when you demanded I come with you here in the Faey Kingdom when I had already put my foot down that I wasn't interested." Archer pointed his finger at Red and continued, "You were the one that insisted I help you find Dorothy, and now that there is a chance for us to be closer to saving her, you insist that I don't do it just because it is 'your' burden to bear?"

Red felt a lump suddenly get stuck to her throat and tears began to pool and cloud her vision. "I-I didn't mean to-" she stuttered.

"Aren't you being such a hypocrite?"

Archer's last question was the straw that broke the camel's back, and Red couldn't hold out anymore as tears started to flood and tumble out of her eyes.
