The Jail Break

The next morning, she woke up expecting to be in her warm bed and everything to be a dream. She was disappointed though when she got up to her jail cell, everything that had happened the previous day came flooding back into her memory. She had taken her pigtails out and let her hair loose. She looked over to see if Adrien was awake. She saw him sitting in the corner of his cell with his face buried in his knees. She couldn't imagine how he must feel, especially since his father might show up at any moment. The police captain walked into the room and motioned to someone who was following him. Sure enough, it was Gabriel Agreste. Marinette had a sickening feeling in her stomach knowing the treachery of this man that had gone unpunished. He was the one who belonged behind bars not them. She turned away hoping that he wouldn't recognize her. The door to Adrien's cell creaked open. "Come on Adrien we're going home." Gabriel said. Adrien looked up at his father and then slowly stood up. Gabriel opened his arms. Adrien hesitated and then ran to his father and accepted his embrace. Tears flowed from his eyes as he tried to forget what his father had done to him earlier. Marinette smiled seeing the affection Gabriel offered to his son who needed it so much. But then what she had dreaded most occurred. Gabriel turned to face her with a look that made her shrink in her cell. "Marinette, I must say you are exceptional at avoiding me but mark my words, I will have my revenge and take everything from you including Adrien. You will regret ever becoming ladybug." Marinette trembled at his words. She knew he meant what he said, and her parents were probably in danger. Maybe Master Fu was right, maybe they should have never revealed their secret identities. "I'll be back for you." He said ominously and then left with Adrien. Marinette's heart pounded she couldn't let him take her away, she had to escape.

Adrien climbed into the car with his father and they headed home. There was a long awkward silence before anyone spoke a word. Then Gabriel broke the silence. "Adrien, I can't tell you enough how sorry I am for…" "Sorry? Sorry?!" Adrien interrupted. "How could you ever be sorry for all of the horrible things you do every day?!" "I didn't mean to harm you son; I am doing this for us for our family." "Family? How could you say such a thing? You are tearing our family apart! I wish mom was here." Adrien sobbed. Gabriel looked down, "I have to show you something when we get home." Adrien wiped his tears away and took a deep breath. He tried to relax, his father wasn't going to hurt him, but he couldn't stop thinking of Marinette. The greatest pain would be the loneliness of not being able to see her ever again or anyone for that matter. He couldn't bear the thought of his father hurting Marinette, he had to do something to help her.

Marinette slipped on Adrien's ring and thought about what she was going to do next. "Marinette be careful," Tikki said, "if you fuse these two miraculous together you would have too much power that even you wouldn't be able to control." "I'm only planning on using one of the miraculous at a time. Don't worry Tikki." She stood up and looked around to see if there were any police nearby. She didn't see anyone, so she quietly transformed into Ladynoir. "This is gonna be loud." She said to herself as she whispered "Cataclysm." The cell door collapsed in front of her and she slipped out. A bunch of police officers piled into the room. "She's gone sir." The captain put his hands on his hips. "She has to be nearby, find her!" Marinette ran through the halls as Ladynoir. Tikki flew after her. "Marinette aren't you more comfortable in your ladybug form?" "Your right Tikki, claws in." Marinette de-transformed and then transformed into ladybug. She ducked behind a wall as police ran by. "Here we go." she said. She ran for the entrance kicking a few unexpecting officers on the way out. She charged into the rainy streets and ran for her life. Police were getting into their cars now and coming after her. She used her yo yo and swung away. She got near her house and stopped in an alley, she was tired and cold, and she didn't know what to do. Her parents were on her mind, she needed to help them escape before Gabriel could hurt them. She slowly walked toward her house and saw her father inside. The police had left awhile back, and he was pacing the bakery. She had been gone all night, so she understood their worry. They had probably been watching the news too which meant they probably knew what happened. She entered the front door sopping wet from the rain and ready to collapse. "Marinette!" Tom exclaimed and ran over to his daughter. "Spots off." She said and she hugged her father. Sabine ran down and joined the hug. "Were not safe here, by now everyone knows I'm ladybug even Hawkmoth." Marinette and her parents went upstairs. "What happened to Adrien sweetie?" Sabine asked. "His father took him," Sabine gasped "That monster!" Tom exclaimed. "Poor Adrien." Sabine said with a downcast face. "I have to help him mom, I don't know how much time I have left." Marinette didn't know what Gabriel would do when he found out that she had Adrien's ring and didn't want Adrien getting beat up even more than he already was.
