Together Again

Adrien couldn't believe it his mom was alive. He looked over at Marinette and saw that she had a look of horror on her face. "What's wrong?" He asked. Marinette pointed towards Nathalie who was lying dead on the ground. Adrien gasped, "No, her life was the price to pay." He said slowly standing up. The thing he really wanted to know was how his mom would react when she heard what Gabriel had been doing the past year. Gabriel's eyes were full of happy tears and Emilie stood up shakily. Gabriel held her up and Emilie glanced around the room. Adrien slowly walked up to his mother and father not sure what to say. Marinette stood awkwardly behind him feeling isolated and left out since she was the only person in the room who wasn't family. "Mom…" Adrien said with a shaky voice. Emilie met eyes with her son and then Adrien ran up to her and she held him in a warm embrace. Tears of happiness flowed from his eyes. Marinette smiled seeing how happy they all were but sadly walked over to Nathalie's body. Sure, she was evil, but she still deserved a chance to live like any person. Marinette sat down next to her and cried silent tears. She had lost her freedom and even though she was with Adrien, she still wanted to see her friends again and finally tell Alya what had happened to her in the past couple days. She wondered how many texts and calls would be on her cellphone if she ever had the chance to get it back. She also wondered how her parents were doing and how worried they probably were for her. She was overwhelmed and let out muffled sobs into her knees. She heard footsteps approaching her and she wiped her tears away and looked up into the eyes of Emilie Agreste someone she had never spoken to before. She could see the resemblance to Adrien right away. Emilie placed her hand on Marinette's shoulder and rubbed it. "Poor thing! Why are you crying young lady?" She asked sympathetically. Marinette just burst into more tears now and Emilie glared at Gabriel. "The real question is why is she here? Gabriel what did you do?!" She yelled out. He took a couple steps back and reassured Emilie that he would explain everything over coffee. Adrien came running up to Marinette and hugged her. "Mom this is Marinette, she is the ladybug miraculous holder and also my girlfriend." He said smiling. "It's very nice to meet you Marinette." Emilie said smiling and Marinette sniffled and shook her hand. Gabriel noticed Nathalie on the ground and bent over her, so did Emilie. "Nathalie." Gabriel said in a weak voice realizing that she was dead. "You sacrificed her for me?!" Emilie said angrily. "I didn't mean too, I just wanted you back." "Don't tell me you used the miraculous." Emilie said already knowing his answer. "I had to draw Ladybug and Cat Noir out so that I could take their miraculous and make my wish, so I had no choice but to use Nooroo." Gabriel said. He picked up Nathalie and placed her in the coffin that Emilie had been in for a little over a year. "I'll deal with you later but first of all, I need to get these kids into some comfortable clothes." She said taking Marinette and Adrien by the hands and leading them to the elevator. They emerged into the house to find Felix prying into things. "Is that you Felix?" Emilie asked. He looked up and hid something behind his back. "Aunt Emilie?" He said confused. "Is that really you? But I thought…" Emilie rushed past him in a hurry. "Gotta go!" She said with Marinette and Adrien in toe. Felix glared at them; something had definitely happened. Adrien walked into his room and plopped down on his bed. It felt good to be back home. Marinette stood in front of him and acted like she was waiting for an invitation. "Sit down Marinette." Adrien said smiling. She slowly sat down next to him. Emilie ran out to grab some clothes and then came back with Marinette's original outfit that had been washed. Marinette grabbed her old clothes gratefully and went to take a shower. Emilie sat down next to Adrien and put her hand around his back pulling him close to her. Adrien closed his eyes and breathed a sigh of happiness. "Mom?" He asked. "What is it sweetheart?" She asked him. "Marinette is homesick, and I know she hasn't seen her friends or her parent's in a week. Is there any way you can convince father to let her go home?" Emilie stroked Adrien's hair. "Of course, she can go home. I don't know why she couldn't." "You don't know how Father has been treating us for the past week and if you knew you would be upset." Emilie had a look on her face that said that she knew more than she was telling him. "He can be pretty touchy when it comes to miraculous matters. I know because our goal was always to collect all of the miraculous. I'll speak to your father about Marinette and I'm sure she'll be able to go home okay?" Emilie said. Adrien nodded. "Why did you wear the peacock miraculous and how did you find it?" He inquired. "Whoa let's not ask to many questions okay. I want to know how you got a miraculous and your friend too." Emilie and Adrien talked about the miraculous for a while.

Marinette brushed her hair and dried it then put in her signature pigtails. She washed her face and breathed a sigh. She walked out to find Emilie and Adrien chatting on his bed. She didn't want to intrude as Adrien looked so happy. But when Adrien noticed that she had come out he got up and surprised her by lifting and spinning her around. "Marinette you'll get to go home tonight." Adrien said. "Really?" Marinette said with surprise in her voice. "Not that I want you to leave, but I know you miss home and your parents so much." Adrien said. Marinette looked over at Emilie and she nodded. Marinette wrapped her arms around Adrien and gave him the tightest hug she could. Then she pulled back and had a serious look on her face. "I want my miraculous back. Tikki is my family too." She said. Gabriel walked into the room and sat next to Emilie. "Emilie, I have to tell you some things I know I can't hide from you." Emilie turned to him with a frown on her face. He then proceeded to tell her everything about being hawkmoth and how he got a hold of the ladybug and cat miraculous. At the end of the story Emilie was a little stunned. "I knew you had this in you Gabriel but to hear what you did… It's a lot to take in." She said. "I promise to be better in the future, but I can't let my secret out, that is why Marinette is here because she knows everything, and I couldn't risk her telling anyone." Gabriel looked up at Marinette with sorrow in his eyes. She felt bad for the man who had done so much wrong. He must feel so guilty. Marinette walked up to him and gave him a slight smile. "If you change for the better and use your powers for good then you won't have to worry about me telling anyone." She said. "How could you forgive me after I hurt you?" He said with remorse. "It's the right thing to do." She said. Gabriel got up and pulled the ladybug miraculous out of his pocket. He handed the earrings to Marinette and she gladly put them back on. Tikki flew out and Marinette giggled as she hugged her cheek. Gabriel then walked up to Adrien and handed him his ring closing his fingers around it. "I hope you can forgive me son." Gabriel said. Adrien turned away and Gabriel sighed. But Marinette's display of forgiveness inspired him, and he turned giving his father a big hug. "I forgive you father!" He said. A group hug followed in which Emilie and Marinette joined.
