Betrayal is a wound that every man has felt, I wrote this story to show how it can make a man strong. 

"What is the difference between a hero, a villain and a coward?

In 17th century France, the rich nobles control the world with a magic system called "Artifacts". Prince an innocent hearted prince of the Bourbon Kingdom, one day has his life thrown into chaos by betrayal, and inherits an "Artifact" that is the ancient spirit of "The Dark King". Through misfortune after misfortune, Prince eventually loses everything and starts his life over without a royal name. Prince vows to make his way back to the top hiding amongst the everyday people of France.

Prince is a Japanese style light novel based on Machiavelli’s classic "The Prince". Although this work takes influence from it, the story, quotes, and characters are all completely original. It is mostly the concept of good and evil that is borrowed from Machiavelli.

The Kind Prince Who Became An Evil Lord of Darkness

Prince awoke on the shore with  Duke and the others surrounding him.

"Prince, is that really you?" Duke asked cautiously, his hand resting on his blade.

"If it wasn't, what good would that blade do you anyway?" Prince replied with laughter

"Ah, that bastard," The Captain laughed. "We're going to have to wait a little longer for him to die."

The captain, Rhyme, Melvin, Nightingale, Duke, Nala, and Shiro were all gathered around him, cheering at his triumphant return.

"So we have won then?" Prince asked, his eyes beginning to water. He had fought so hard and was ready for some rest.

"Yes, we have won on all fronts. The main castle is destroyed but everyone is under our control. A new leadership is about to arise in Japan!" Shiro exclaimed.

"That is great," Prince replied, closing his eyes. "Now I must rest."

As he closed his eyes, the image of Yingjie's appearance flashed in his memory.
