Chapter 10: True Colors

The dim morning light was enough to wake me up. I sat up quickly, and looked around. My room was the same. The door was shut, and there were muffled sounds of people talking and walking about. Last night's adventure then poured into my mind. Meeting the pack and my time with Bells. I already started to miss her. To help myself not to start crying from the grief, I jumped up from the bed and went to the bathroom.

When I stepped into the bathroom, my reflection shocked me. There were subtle changes in my features. I seemed a bit more buff. I quickly looked down to see that I was growing out of my sweat pants. Weird, I had just gotten these last month, and they were a bit large. I looked back up. What was happening to me? Only one person had the answer. I turned and raced to Jake's room. It only took me two strides to get throughout the hallway. As soon as I was at his door, I swung it open.

"Jake!" I said with my hand still on the door.

He was awake, so he just turned to look at me.

"Noah? Are you ok?" Worry crossed his face.

He must've been speaking to Leah on the Phone, so he quickly whispered a goodbye and dropped the phone.

"Noah what's wrong?" With urgency in his voice, he stood up.

That's when he noticed it. Jacob is tall, almost seven feet tall. I am tall too, naturally, roughly 6'7". But now, I was looking eye to eye with Jacob. We were almost the same height. He was still a bit taller than me. A hand came up to his as he gasped.

"Noah, I think it's happening"

"What's happening?" I asked.

"You're changing, Noah. You're close to phasing" Jake explained.

I looked at myself.

"When and how am I going phase. I can't just pop into a gigantic wolf with Addison and Kayla in the house." I exclaimed.

"Don't worry, I know a place you can safely phase without hurting anyone" Jake placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder.

Wait, hurt anyone. How could I possibly hurt someone?

"What do you mean by hurt someone?"

Jake took a deep breath.

"Noah, when you phase, your emotions are going to be heightened. You will b in pain and confusion. You will be immensely strong, so there is a high chance you might hurt someone..."

He stared at me, measuring my reaction.

"-but I will help you. You don't need to worry, I'm here Noah. Now we just have to get you out of the house before the full moon. Normally we can phase at will, but the first time we phase is under the control of the moon."

With that Jacob sent me to my room to get ready, while he went downstairs to give Addison some excuse to get out of the house. My hands shook as I slid a shirt over my head. I can't hurt someone, let alone kill them. Instead of long pants, I wore knee length shorts to hide my sudden increase in height. It wouldn't help much, because my knee length shorts have come above my knees now. I then slowly walked down the stairs, and skipped a few steps with ease. Jacob saw me and came to my side.

"Try not to touch anyone, you're skin is going to seem flaming hot to humans, so mom might think that you have a fever." Jake whispered.

I nodded. With a small good morning, I left the house with Jacob. He was in the car before I even stepped onto the driveway. The car was on when I sat down, and Jake started driving as soon as I closed the door. The entire ride Jake kept silent. Things were normal for the next twenty minutes. Suddenly I heard a continuous thumping sound. The kind you hear during a slo motion scene, the sound that replicates a heart beat. What? The thumping sound started to get clearer, till it sounded like it was coming from within me. Was I hearing my heartbeat? Then another thumping joined mine. This one was coming from my left. The sound let straight to Jake's chest. His heartbeat.

Soon I heard a buzzing sound, which then turner into a rumble, then a roar. The cars. Then more heartbeats, cars, footsteps, honking, and many others I couldn't recognize. My hands gripped the seats, and almost tore through the leather.

"Noah, what's wrong?" Jacob asked slowly.

"I... can... hear... EVERYTHING!" I gasped and shrieked at the same time.

"Noah, stay calm. In a bit you'll feel your clothes ripping. Please, try to hold it in. Stiffen yourself, it helps." Jake soothed.

"How much longer?" I breathed.

"Only five more minutes"

FIVE MINUTES?! I couldn't last five seconds. Frustration over took me. In result a low growl came from within my chest. How did I do that?

"Hold it in Noah" Jake growled back.

The car then went into a highway with a dense forest on both sides. Two minutes later, the car stopped at a dead end. We were quite far from civilization, but I could still hear faint noises. Within the blink of an eye, Jake was at my side, dragging me out of the car. I gasped as soon as I stood up. Jacob, who is seven feet tall, is now eye to eye with me. I was only an inch shorter than him. He didn't react, instead he pulled me into the forest. We walked until we reached a sealed cave. Jake finally let me go. He walked to the entrance of the cave, and placed his two palms on the boulder. With a slight effort, Jacob managed to push the boulder out of the way. Normally I would've freaked, bit right now, the deafening sound of the boulder rang in my ears.

As soon as the boulder was out of the way, Jake pulled me into the cave. Inside the cave, there was a small opening in the roof for a little bit of light to come through. Black iron chains snaked down one of the walls. Jacob had moved to that wall. He picked up a bundle of chains, which must've weighed a few tons, and brought them over to me. He chained my hands and feet. Then he wrapped a chain in a cross pattern over my shoulders and around my back. Lastly, he brought over one more chain. His hands brought the chain up to my throat, but stopped midway.

"What?!" I grunted.

"Noah... I can't" He whispered.

"What... are... you... saying?!" I hissed.

"Noah, I can't chain you like this. You're my cousin. More like my brother."

That's what he could think at the moment? Normally I would've rolled my eyes.

"Shut up... and CHAIN ME! Before I kill someone!" I roared.

My voice had never risen to this level before.

Jake's face went hard as he finished chaining me.

Two hours passed. The sounds now weren't the only things bothering me. I could see, smell, and feel everything. All my senses were heightened and were attacking me. I could feel myself grow larger every second. My shirt felt tight against my chest. Jacob couldn't see me like this, so he stayed outside the cave. I sucked in a deep breath, and prepared myself for more pain.

Countless hours had passed. Our phones had ran out of battery, so Jacob couldn't tell what time it is. Few seconds later, the moon's light shone through the crack in the ceiling. Jake had told me, that when I will phase for the first time, the full moon's light will finally turn me into a ware wolf. I didn't have time to prepare myself. The shackles around my hands, legs, waist, and throat became too tight for me. Some urge made want to get on all fours, and so I did. When I saw my arms below me, I saw they had dark reddish brown fur coming out of it. My nails grew into claws, and my palms changed into paws. I then noticed that scraps of my clothes were lying around me. I guess I couldn't feel the coldness of their absence, since I am now a fully turned ware wolf.

Chapter 10: True Colors Part 2

Rebekah, Klaus, and an unknown male vampire's scents flowed into my nostrils. Elijah got off of me and put his clothes back on. Apparently, he had undressed right in front of my door. I too sat up and made my way to the bathroom. Before I entered it, I felt Elijah's arms wrap around me once again. He brought his lips close to my ear.

"Don't worry, I won't let him use you again" He whispered.

"You will never fight him" I whispered back to him.

It's true. Elijah loves his brother. He would never fight Klaus. Not that I wanted him to. I just want to be free of Klaus.

"You'll never fight him. He's your brother, and no matter how he treats you, you will always be by his side." I hissed.

"I will protect you." Acid nearly dripped from his voice.

With that, he left to greet his siblings and whoever is that unknown vampire. A funny thought then roamed my mind. For some reason, when someone has an English accent, they sound more honest. The entire Mikaelson family has a perfect English accent. So do Kol and I, but our accents have a slight hint of our Bulgarian background. Thinking of Bulgaria made me feel an emotion I hadn't felt in a long while: sadness. I then quickly pushed the feeling away and headed downstairs.

As I entered the living room, I saw Rebekah, Klaus, and an unknown black man. He seemed buff, obviously a vampire, and had only a shadow of hair on his head. Like the rest of us, he too had vampiric beauty. Nothing too intriguing. Klaus smirked at me. I had unconsciously decided to wear a black, v-neck, knee length dress. He loved when I wore black. I almost cringed. Rebekah then broke the awkward silence by approaching me for a hug. She had only been gone a day, but we are best friends who can't live without each other.

"Kat, finally, we can go hunting together again" She squealed while hugging me.

I returned the gesture wholeheartedly.

"I don't think your new found diet of animal blood will do me any good" I laughed.

Thankfully, Klaus didn't bother to embrace me, and instead he introduced me to his, apparently, son, Marcellus Mikaelson. Klaus had adopted him two centuries ago. He then named him, raised him, and then turned him. The reason why he was turned was because Rebekah had fallen in love with him. They looked good together. I gave my greetings, and declined Klaus's offer to go hunting with him. Instead, Elijah went. I had other errands to run. Rebekah took Marcel around the house. I then exited through the back door, and made my way to Mystic Falls.

Obviously, I didn't need a vehicle of any sort, I just ran. Forks gave me varieties of forest paths to go through. It took me only twenty minutes to reach Mystic Fall's forest. I ran until I found a small lake. I stood at the edge of the lake, and waited for my informer. Normally, I play informer, while Klaus and Elijah plan. I also execute our plans. But since Klaus has returned, I have become anxious. He has a habit of hurting his family. Original vampires can't be killed, but can be sent into a deep sleep. To do so, you need to stab them with a very specific silver dagger. Klaus uses it to 'discipline' his siblings. He just does out of anger. If he stabs Elijah or Rebekah, I want to be there to pull the dagger out and revive them-

'Crunch'

I heard the crunching of leaves, indicating someone's arrival. My messenger is here. I turned around to see Bonnie Bennet, a you g witch, whom I had used my vampiric ability of compulsion to obey my every command. She is from Mystic Falls, an easy way to keep tabs on Noah. I stepped towards her.

"How's Noah?" I asked.

"Oh you won't believe what happened" She smirked.

"If you don't tell me right now, you won't live to see another sunrise" I threatened.

"I sensed that Noah just phased into a ware wolf"

Wow, how much had I missed?

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Positive" She answered.

"Well then, seems like I am going to have to give our Noah a visit very soon"
